Grace Evans, an overworked New Yorker looking for a total escape from her busy life, books an Airbnb on a ranch in the middle of Wyoming. When she arrives at the idyllic getaway, she’s pleased to find that the owner is a handsome man by the name of Calvin Wells—and he’s eager to introduce her to his easygoing way of life. But there are things Grace discovers that she’s not too pleased about: A lack of cell phone service. A missing woman. And a feeling that something isn’t right with the ranch.

Performances were great, story was ok. Do I regret using the credit though? No. It was an easy read with an unexpected ending.

I think I dove into this book thinking it was going to be something different than what it was. So maybe that has skewed how I feel about it. Idk.

Absolutely loved it!
Revisado: 04-19-23
What a well written book. I loved all of the characters and how they all slowly came together. At first I was a little apprehensive about the supernatural elements, but after I got over that, I really enjoyed the story.
Narration was great as well!

Absolutely Brilliant!!!
Revisado: 04-13-23
I was unsure about this book at first because some people said it was hard to follow because it hopped around so much, but boy am I glad I took the plunge.
While this book does hop around a bit I had no issues keeping track. Maybe it helped going into it already knowing, who knows. All I know is that this book was unputadownable! Finished it in a day. So many wow moments. Definitely recommend this one. Narration was fantastic as well.

Revisado: 04-09-23
So many twists. I kept thinking I knew what was going on, only to be proven wrong. Yes, there were a lot of characters, but I had no trouble keeping up with them. I feel that the author did a great job with each character that I knew who was who. It's all around a great book. I think it would make an excellent movie!
As far as the narration, I thought they all did a great job as well. So glad I took the plunge!

Everyone has secrets, and Rachel Holloway is no exception. She’s worked hard to keep the past where it belongs: dead and buried. And so far, she’s been very successful. But now the small newspaper where she works wants to produce a podcast on a cold case: the disappearance 12 years ago of young Molly Forster. Some secrets should never see the light of day, and, as far as Rachel is concerned, whatever happened to little Molly is one of them.

Mary B. Addison killed a baby. Allegedly. She didn't say much in that first interview with detectives, and the media filled in the only blanks that mattered: a white baby had died while under the care of a churchgoing black woman and her nine-year-old daughter. The public convicted Mary, and the jury made it official. But did she do it?

I enjoyed it.
Revisado: 03-26-23
I thought it was well written and finished up nicely. It seemed to me that a difficult lesson was learned.
The one thing that I wanted to know more about though was the diary. I felt that could have more of a storyline there. Was she writing about her husband? What was her plan to leave? That part fell flat for me.
