Story
Tiffany can't avoid being funny: it's just who she is. But The Last Black Unicorn is so much more than a side-splittingly hilarious collection of essays - it's a memoir of the struggles of one woman who came from nothing and nowhere. A woman who was able to achieve her dreams by reveling in her pain and awkwardness, showing the world who she really is, and inspiring others through the power of laughter.

This book is real, funny, and will maybe inspire you. You know in horror movies, were there is a scary noise outside and the people go out and see what is it and you as the audience is like DONT DO IT, THE KILLER IS OUT THERE. There were points like that in the book for me, were I wanted to stop her from getting into sticky situation, yes I know she already went through it but still. Some parts were a little TMI, but this is her story and she isn’t afraid to tell all.

Story
Growing from a boy to a man is no easy task. Bodies are changing, social circles are evolving, hair is appearing in places it never was before - and on top of it all, there's the ever-present pressure to conform to the typical idea of what it means to be "manly". But it's easier to do if you're armed with facts. Using personal anecdotes as an overly observant mother of two boys and plenty of scientific information from her life as a neuroscientist, Mayim Bialik, PhD, star of The Big Bang Theory, talks directly to teen boys about what it means to grow from a boy to a man.

Missed Audience?

I watched her “sell” this book on GMA. How I perceived the book from the show, was the book was to discuss how the brains in boys operate differently and their needs are different. I am a first time mom and have a one month old son, so I thought “Hey! This book sounds like it would be great for me to get ahead of the game.” So far I am very disappointed and I doubt I will continue to listen to the book. Most of the information that has been read, I learned in my Health Class in middle school. So maybe this was targeted for boys who are going through puberty?

Would you consider the audio edition of Forgotten Secrets to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print version so I don't know.
What other book might you compare Forgotten Secrets to and why?
It's hard to compare it to other books, But it has action, suspense, and romance.
Have you listened to any of Lauren Ezzo’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
At the halfway point, I felt that way.
Any additional comments?
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I had a good hunch to the ending and it had some interesting twist throughout the book. I loved most of the characters (good), especially Gramm.
