Lucina Riley Does it Again!
Reviewed: 05-07-23
Another epic love story that impacts the lives of two generations. I don't know how Lucinda Riley does it. With such detail you travel the world with her, this time to Thailand. I must say that I do not think there has been another Riley book that literally got me so angry with the main character where I was literally cursing him out. This story will break your heart. How love can lead to betrayal. How selfish acts at the expense of others leads you to eventually forgive them as a reader. I love the ending, but it took me through many emotions to forgive the characters and accept the outcome as worth it.

Excellent Epic Love Story -Storyline follows multi-generation of the Love Story between an Aristocratic English Lord Donald Astbury and an Indian woman of noble birth but orphaned with no dowery and companion of the Marharaji Princess which takes her to England for schooling as the Princess of Indian Royalty's companion. The setting is the old Astbury Estate in England used as backdrop for a movie depicting the family from the early 1900's. The main American actress resembles the portrait of the Lady Mistress of the estate and Donald's wife. Some surprising twists. Narrated by Anahita as a letter written to her son, Moe, born out of wedlock and fathered by Donald Astbury and of whom she searched a lifetime to find knowing that he still lived although given a death certificate of his passing in an accident along with his father. Loved it. I don't know how I missed the passing of Lucinda Riley in 2021 - I am heartbroken of hearing the news and will truly miss this author of some many wonder works.

Book 9 of the series was a fantastic and engrossing as the other books, however, this one really left me utterly sad. I think you will need a box of tissues as an unexpected turn of events left me in tears. I still feel such sadness for Jackman & his associates its was an out of the blue tragic event. That said - I love this series - I hope that there is a #10 Book, if not now, soon.

RIDICULOUS - PORNOGRAPHIC HORRIBLE DIALOGUE
Reviewed: 05-22-21
I really do not know why I am giving it 2 stars - overall Pretty pathetic - total roll of the eye moments, cringe moments way too many. It was like - --- what type of genre is this? I concluded Everything including the kitchen sink! - It was a murder mystery, it was a Satanic Cult story, It was (I guess) a love story and yes it also was a Pornographic piece. I actually Hated it, why I continued to the end was to just find out what awful character was the murderer. Oh... at after all the gory details of what happened to the women.... when the murderer was caught and faced his doom....Not a thread of gore...and it could have included it... wasn't that what the author wanted? Stupid - The author had to add someone toward the end to placate the theme... I guess - Bottom line - Don't Bother

Gazing out over the ocean, as her sister sleeps it off, Beth is startled to see someone in the darkness watching her - startled she eyes the most gorgeous man she has ever seen, she agrees to go for a drink with him for his apologies for startling her. They go to a piano bar where a beautiful woman sings, realizing that this must be Raphael's companion on the cruise and his lover, he introduces her as his sister - Yehaw, what a relief until she sees them devouring each other in a kiss that only lover's could pull off... that's it Beth is out of there - heading back to her cabin she finds it empty, no Jen in place - She heads out to all the bars looking for her only to find her sandwiched between the Incestual Couple - Grinding to the music - She grabs Jen and tells her we have to get out of here - these people are NOT who you want to be with - Jen pushes her aside and in her drugged up, drunken state tells Jen she doesn't want her near her and every other possible mean thing. The next thing we know - Beth is in a hospital- suffering amnesia from a blow to the head - 10 months ago but Beth is living in a alter-reality thinking she is still in Mexico looking for Jen ... Meanwhile, there is a disgraced reporter, Nick meeting with a father and son who were the ones who found the slaughter nuns in a deserted house in the desert just inside mexico; The story intertwines until the two main characters eventually work together to find the truth.... Psychological thriller with a few twists
Reviewed: 04-12-21
I added this audio from the "included" list because it just sounded so interesting, However, I realized I actually read this book back in 2018 - and this was my review from then: This was a psychological thriller with a few twists. A school student counselor thinks she has the perfect life. Perfect husband, great house, and ready to start a family, in fact they tried this morning, before her world turned upside down. A plane that left Atlanta crashed on the way to Seattle. Will, her Husband who was on a plane to Florida to a convention where he set to be a guest speaker some how was listed as one of the casualties of the crash. Crazy right? well, it just kept on getting crazy until, it actually became unrealistic. The plot went haywire and with a roll of the eyes, I finished the book. The ending had a nice twist but otherwise, just ok.
