Story
Refusing to believe that she would be abandoned as a young child, Jenna searches for her mother regularly online and pores over the pages of Alice's old journals. A scientist who studied grief among elephants, Alice wrote mostly of her research among the animals she loved, yet Jenna hopes the entries will provide a clue to her mother’s whereabouts. Desperate to find the truth, Jenna enlists two unlikely allies in her quest.

You Won't Believe The End
Reviewed: 10-15-19
This an excellent work by a very good author, I want to be careful not to say too much to spoil it for you. I never suspected how it would end as a 13-year old girl searches for her mother who disappears when she was 3 yrs old. The story takes place in the wild s of Botswana and in a fictional New Hampshire elephant sanctuary. Both the husband and wife are deeply immersed in the study of elephants both in the wild and in sanctuary. They have several people working with them who follow them to New Hampshire, as well. But don't be discouraged by what you might think of as dry research. It is anything but. I've have always loved Jodi Picoult's writing but this has to be among her best, if not the best.

Where does Furious rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Very high ranking. It just keeps you on the edge of your seat. There are not many out there that keep me up at night or bring tears to my eyes.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Faith McMann of course. Think about what you would do in her place. I wouldn't think twice about the keyboard incident.
Have you listened to any of Kate Rudd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Many of them but this was definitely most satisfying.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I would have if I could Have kept awake.
Any additional comments?
I can't wait the listen to the next two; Outrage & Wrath.

OK, But Predictable
Reviewed: 09-24-16
Is there anything you would change about this book?
It would take a lot to bring this up to a 5 star.
What about Christina Moore’s performance did you like?
Yes, it was pretty good and I am not usually a fan of female narrators.
Do you think Submerged needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
It would be expected with all the family members to choose from.
Any additional comments?
I really liked the Alaska-Russian theme in the story. I have always wanted to go to Sitka because of that.

Story
Fourteen-year-old Greg Dixon is living a nightmare. Attending boarding school outside of Boston, he is separated from his family when a pandemic strikes. His classmates and teachers are dead, rotting in a dormitory-turned-morgue steps from his room. The nights are getting colder, and his food has run out. The last message from his father is to get away from the city and to meet at his grandparents' town in remote New Hampshire.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
If they liked post-apocalyptic novels, yes I would.
What other book might you compare The Last Tribe to and why?
This really doesn't compare to other post-apocalyptic novels because of the very quick pandemic. There are no gangs attacking, cannibalism, etc. The thought processes of the survivors is unique in their differences. My only problem is the abruptness of the ending. It was taken too far or not short enough to end where it did.
Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favorite?
Gregg & Rebecca were very interesting.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Up until late in the book.
Any additional comments?
I think a sequel is order to see if anyone else from the mainland or Oahu joined the tribe and what happens to the Team Gregg & Rebecca plus Solange & John.

What would have made Queen of Hearts better?
A decent narrator. Because of the narrator, Icould not follow or finish this book & I don't do that very often.
Would you ever listen to anything by Rhys Bowen again?
If there was a differemt narrator. Her brogue was her only saving grace.
