Story
Since time immemorial, humans have worshipped the gods they call Fhrey, truly a race apart: invincible in battle, masters of magic, and seemingly immortal. But when a god falls to a human blade, the balance of power between humans and those they thought were gods changes forever. Now only a few stand between humankind and annihilation: Raithe, reluctant to embrace his destiny as the God Killer; Suri, a young seer burdened by signs of impending doom; and Persephone, who must overcome personal tragedy to lead her people. The Age of Myth is over. The time of rebellion has begun.

Series started well ended poorly

I have purchased the prior Riyra audiobooks and enjoyed them tremendously. There was no way I was going to stop at that point, so I just purchased all six Legends audiobooks and settled in for the adventure. The first books were interesting, but then the pace slowed to the point it became almost impossible to endure to the end of each book. I started skipping chapters looking for places that contributed to the plot, finally I just gave up. I'll probably go back to the series in the future and pick it up again, there were moments that the writing was wonderful. I won't be purchasing Nolyn.

Wonderful Performance

I truly, truly enjoyed this book. I've saved it in my library and plan on listening to it again. The ending of each episode with the reading of the credits was a hoot, I always listened to the very end. The Ballarat National Theatre is currently working on "Persuasion", which I hope will be available on audible.

Story
Robert Rothmore, Earl of Rockford, thinks Alissa Henning is simply delightful-exactly the kind of woman who'd make the perfect mother for his sons. But Alissa swore she'd spend the rest of her life scraping pennies together rather than wed the insufferable earl and become a glorified governess. Still, she couldn't very well let her own children starve - and there was no doubt that Rockford would give them all a good life. So, she reluctantly accepts his offer...but there's more to a good life than what's in one's pockets.

There Ought to be a Rule-Listen for fun

This book is a delight to read but even better to listen to. Pippa Rathbone's rendition is marvelous, after listening for five or more times I still enjoy her performing Lord Rockford's son Billy, who reminds me of Pig Pen from the Charlie Brown cartoons.
This is my favorite of Barbara Metzger's books, the second being "Lord Heartless".

Story
When Persephone Lancaster receives a marriage proposal from the ill-tempered Duke of Kielder, she refuses - and then reconsiders. The obscene sum of money he's offering Persephone would save her family from ruin. With her characteristic optimism, she travels to the far reaches of Northumberland to wed a greatly feared stranger. Lodged deep in a thick forest infested with wild dogs, the Duke's castle is as cold and forbidding as the Duke himself, a man with terrible scars on his body and his soul.

Just couldn't sound like grumpy Adam
Reviewed: 03-06-20
I've purchased every book that had Adam Kielder as one of the characters. He's so delightfully grumpy. I'm sorry this narrator just couldn't do him justice.

Left the best part off --- the ending
Reviewed: 03-06-20
Having read this great book multiple times I was looking forward to the ending where she tells him she's pregnant. Nope not there, I was so disappointed I so wanted to hear his reaction to the news. I had to bring the book up and reread the ending. Overall the everything was great until then.
