Story
A soldier raised as heir to an empire, Zarrah is motivated by two truths. The first is that the Veliant family murdered her mother. And the second is that her pursuit of vengeance will put every last one of them in their graves. The Endless War between Maridrina and Valcotta has raged for generations, leaving thousands of Zarrah’s people dead and countless more orphaned. So when she’s given command of the contested city of Nerastis, Zarrah is prepared to do whatever it takes to destroy the Maridrinian forces who oppose her. And to kill the Veliant prince who leads them.

Story
In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever. This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.

I am in awe of Mrs. Davis as an actress, but now I am on aw of her as a black woman. To know the struggles she faced and continued to press on when many would have folded takes courage, determination, and sheer will. This is what she brings to her characters and now I understand why. BRAVA MRS. VIOLA DAVIS..BRAVA!!!

This is a GREAT series and i enjoyed every piece of it until the final few chapters. I almost threw my phone. I swear thr writer should go back to the drawing board and make an alternative ending...because this one was disappointing 😞

There are shelves of memoirs about overcoming the death of a parent, childhood abuse, rape, drug addiction, miscarriage, alcoholism, hustling, gangbanging, near-death injuries, drug dealing, prostitution, or homelessness. Cupcake Brown survived all these things before she'd even turned 20.

Story
A Breath of Snow and Ashes continues the saga of 18th-century Scotsman Jamie Fraser and his 20th-century, time-traveling wife, Claire. The year is 1772, and the rift between Britain and its American colonies has put a frightening word into the minds of all concerned: revolution. In the backwoods of North Carolina, violence has already reared its ugly head, as cabins have been burned to the ground. To preserve the colony for King George III, the governor pleads with Jamie to bring the people together and restore peace. But Jamie has the burden of knowing that war cannot be avoided.

Every moment I could I listened. The series mashes up a lot but reading the book helps me understand why. I wished the series would have stayed closer to the storyline of the book. Time to listen to book 7 and continue to patiently wait for Season 6

One of the best books Ive read in years. As a black woman raised in the ghetto "hood" it was fun going through the story and hearing about the hood/ghettos in South Africa and how they mimic America. A great book with a lot of important information.
