Story
Joey Mancuso, Father O'Brian, and the rest of the team are back for their ninth hard-boiled tale. Consistently working out of their Lower Manhattan Irish pub and office. This time, there is no client. Instead, Mancuso has been sucked into this series of senseless murders by personal invitation. A text with the location and an invite to come over. It appears like random killings of homeless people at subway stations. But there is nothing unexpected about the texts.

Normally James gets 5 stars but 4 for this one. I wasn't expecting spying and government involvement. But wow what research he must have done. I would recommend this book because I'm already looking forward to the next in the series!

I gave it 4 stars because it was definitely a slow starter for me. I am really glad now that I went back and finished!

I received this book for an honest review. I was a bit skeptical because I normally have trouble completely understanding a British accent, but this narrator exceeded expectations! Mr. Galloway is quickly becoming a favorite.
I enjoy a fast paced book that grabs me from the beginning. This did not disappoint. I liked this book so much that I am going back and starting the series from the beginning.

Story
In 1873, the largest serial-killing spree in American history happened along the Osage Trail in Kansas. The family would later be identified as the Bloody Benders. Unlike most criminals of their time, they escaped and were never caught. This true history is now captured in a gripping fictional tale that takes the horror of murder on the plains to a dark new level.
