I experienced a spiritual awakening following a dark night of the soul. Eckhart’s work has been an integral part of that awakening.

So far this author is the closest to GH that I have found - except for the sex of course. However, compared to many other imitators or admirers of GH, the sex is not overly frequent or particularly gratuitous. The language and period details are great. The humor is occasionally dry, and the story is more complicated than it first seems. If you are a GH fan and you can tolerate a bit of explicit sex, you will be happy.

I was so happy to find Candace Camp, possibly the closest thing to Georgette Heyer that there is. The first couple books were great. Then Will Thorne took over as narrator. Will has a particular sing-song delivery where he ends every narrative sentence with an emphasis on the last word, going up in register. Once you hear it, you can’t not hear it. It’s too bad as he has a lovely voice, but the Audible editors failed here. I will not purchase any of the books narrated by Thorne, even though I would have loved to hear the stories. Who knows? I might read the print version on my neglected Kindle.
