Story
Team Yankee, the New York Times best-seller by Harold Coyle, presents a glimpse of what it would have been like for the soldiers who would have had to meet the relentless onslaught of Soviet and Warsaw Pact divisions. Using the geo-political and military scenarios described by General Sir John Hackett, former NORTHAG commander and author of World War Three; August 1985, Team Yankee follows the war as seen from the turret of Captain Sean Bannon's tank.

Perhaps a bit onesided but then again it was written during the Cold War. Listen to a gripping story about a tank platoon as WW3 starts. Knowing a bit of military vocabulary will help.

Story
SHILOH, 1862 - The Battle of Shiloh, fought in the wilderness of southern Tennessee in April 1862, marked a violent crossroads in the Civil War. What began as a surprise attack by Confederate troops on a Union stronghold to gain control of the Mississippi River Valley became a bloody two-day conflict that would eerily foretell the brutal reality of the next three years.

Not a dry analysis of the battle but rather a higher level tactical view of the moves of the generals and exploring the diaries of the people involved. Great listen for anyone with an ACW interest.

Historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Barbara Tuchman here brought to life again the people and events that led up to World War I. With attention to fascinating detail, and an intense knowledge of her subject and its characters, Ms. Tuchman reveals, for the first time, just how the war started, why, and why it could have been stopped but wasn't. This book brought back the feeling I had when watching the original trilogy. Not only is Thrawn a perfect fit for the universe but the way Timothy Zahn can make the story work is just brilliant, every detail matters. I can only recommend this and his other books. They are all excellent.

Great book

If you like virus, zombies or well anything that can cause an apocalypse you will like this book. The author combines real events in his story which only adds to the atmosphere.
Perhaps a bit too much connections between the different characters but that's perhaps necessary for part two. Can't wait.
