Story
England in the 1520s is a heartbeat from disaster. If the king dies without a male heir, the country could be destroyed by civil war. Henry VIII wants to annul his marriage of 20 years and marry Anne Boleyn. The pope and most of Europe opposes him. Into this impasse steps Thomas Cromwell: a wholly original man, a charmer and a bully, both idealist and opportunist, astute in reading people, and implacable in his ambition. But Henry is volatile: one day tender, one day murderous. Cromwell helps him break the opposition, but what will be the price of his triumph?

Story
With all of the pluck and charm of its eponymous young hero, Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Spotlight, Midnight in Paris) delivers a spectacular reading of Montgomery's beloved bildungsroman. In moments both funny and bittersweet, McAdams' voice is imbued with the spark that has made Anne a much-loved symbol of individualism and cheer for over a century.

Loved the Canadian production of this on PBS growing up. Enjoyed much of Ann with an E, but nothing quite like the original story. Loved it!

This story was interesting, sweet, and helped me process through some feelings I have struggled to fully understand for years. I suspect I will listen to it again in a few years and I will definitely recommend it to friends and family. Thank you Kim Vogel ❤️

Really enjoyed it once it got going. The begging was hard for me to get into with Renna and the story. Once they set out and got past the initial few days of the journey it got good.
I didn’t like that they changed Enna’s description. Changing characters mid series bothers me.

I really enjoyed the historical setting and characters in this story, I only want wish the heroin would have fully admitted her fault and apologized for her specific failure. That is how we are able to mend, forgive, and improve. Other than that, it is a lovely story.

After years of idolatry, Judah's temple has been cleansed and Hezekiah has brought God's law back to his people. But when he incurs the wrath of the barbaric Assyrians, he will need help from a surprising source.

Hard to enjoy a story of this kind when flawed.

The fictional story created was interesting and well researched, but a lot has to be left to interpretation by the author. I personally disagree with the way the Prophets of God are portrayed. Prophets and apostles, don’t argue, even when they disagree. The discuss, ponder, study, and seek to know the will of God. They also don’t go into a trance when speaking for God. They are lead by the Holy Ghost and are teacher and learner.
There are other false statements like being loved by a person whom you love being the greatest miracle or blessing, but it is actually the gift of repentance through our Savior Jesus Christ that is the greatest miracle and blessing.
I still like the books in this series, but don’t find myself loving them due to these discrepancies.
