Story
Labeled variously a realistic story of whaling, a romance of unusual adventure and eccentric characters, a symbolic allegory, and a drama of heroic conflict, Moby Dick is first and foremost a great story. It has both the humor and poignancy of a simple sea ballad, as well as the depth and universality of a grand odyssey.

Garbled audio
Reviewed: 12-12-24
Although the story was great and the performance was tremendous, the audio is garbled in many places with stuttering, sputtering, crackling, skipping and rewinding. This sometimes occurs at the height of intensity in the story and the listener is left to guess what happened. For this reason, I give it one star and would give it fewer stars if that option were available.

Story
Aza Holmes never intended to pursue the disappearance of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there’s a hundred-thousand-dollar reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Pickett’s son Davis. Aza is trying. She is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.

Riviting narration

The narrator gave a phenomenal performance, giving unique personality to each character and scene--an amazing voice talent. I am now looking for books narrated by Kate Rudd.
I was surprised how engaging a story told from the perspective of a modern high-school girl could be. Very well written. Gripping plot-line and engaging dialogue.

Excellent and profoundly encouraging
Reviewed: 05-17-16
At first I was dismayed at the slow cadence of the narrator, but, imagining an elderly author recounting her experiences, feel that it added to the quality of the recording, giving it the autobiographical feel.
The story was gripping and very well written.
