I was pleasantly surprised at this story. At first it seemed a little slow and but then it started to gather momentum as the episode kept going. Overall good story and good voice acting.

Pretty Good Listen

After episode 9 I’m not sure if that’s the end of not? Many loose ends.

Is it over

I felt like it worked too hard at the edgy teen POV at times and sometimes the adults acted in ways that didn’t seem very believable to me. I recognized the bumper music from one of the Public Radio Alliance podcasts, but that didn’t ruin the twists and turns for me at all. It was a damn good mystery. I was a little surprised that the Atlas Obscura didn’t make an appearance. Like all of the works, I’m looking forward to seeing if there are websites that break the fourth wall.

This was good.

It was enjoyable.

This podcast has good production value, good voice actors, and an interesting story. My only problems are the too long intros and the background music. The background music plays through every episode the entire time. It gets pretty old and annoying.

Nicely Produced

And I will listen/read/consume anything this man produces. But Terry…you have to make some younger friends! Every character you write is Gen X. And you do that beautifully! But no 17 year old girl on earth is making a Drillbit Taylor reference or drinking an IPA 😭

I love Terry Miles

Not bad at all. Give it several episodes before giving up on it. 3 stars

Took time to get interesting

I really enjoyed listening to this story and I thought the narration was articulate, interesting and compelling

I enjoy Terry Miles' work quite a bit such, as Tanis and Rabbits, and I really was hoping I would love this, but it's just ok. The fact that it was written by an older white dude bleeds through the characters. Sloane has many a long philosophical soliloquy that sounds nothing like something a teenager would say. It seems a little too focused on how sexy a bunch of teens are, and gives teenagers waaaaaay too much credit. Some of the scenes feel forced to me. In the opening for episode one Sloane babbles on and on and closes with "teenage girls are f****** devastating" and that is easily one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. What a garbage line.
Despite all this criticism, I did like the mystery and the story, and the performances were pretty good too. Listen to this podcast if you have a decent tolerance for cringe, otherwise skip it.

While entertaining, this podcast has some issues

The narration switches 3/4 through the story and you are left figuring out who is the main character and who is the antagonist and protagonist. The plethora of characters leaves little room for development in a semi-chaotic slough of drama. I enjoyed the listen but the flow was aloof.

The build is gradual and hits sensitive topics

I enjoyed listening to this story, it had lots of interesting twists. I did not like the ending though- it felt incomplete to me. It leaves you wondering what happens to some of the characters. It was also a very depressing story line- don’t listen to it if social media bullying, rape and suicide are triggers for you. The story left me feeling very sad.

Interesting story, but depressing
