The URFC squad is back, though missing our beloved Sir Sean, for an episode that goes beyond the pitch. We take a moment to send our thoughts, prayers, and unwavering support to Savy King as she begins her road to recovery. We hold space for reflections from those who know Savy best: her teammate in LA and former Royals player, Christen Press, and Alex Loera, a close friend and former teammate. We also share post-game media from Royals head coach, Jimmy Coonraets, who offers a heartfelt reminder that some things are truly bigger than the game.
We recap the Royals’ recent losses and struggles on the pitch against the Courage and Angel City, and preview Saturday’s road match against the Washington Spirit, hoping to bring home points before we face Orlando Pride at home next week.
