  • 311 The Revelation of Loyal Love
    Mar 11 2025

Today we explore how Jesus is the ultimate revelation of hesed, God’s steadfast and loyal love. Building on Exodus 34:6-7 and the parable of the Lost Son in Luke 15, we see that hesed is not just an attribute of God but is fully embodied in Jesus. Through His incarnation, ministry, and ultimate sacrifice on the cross, Jesus demonstrates unwavering, covenantal love—seeking the lost, forgiving the undeserving, and serving even His betrayers. As His followers, we are called to reflect this same hesed in our lives through forgiveness, service, and sacrificial love.

    Feb 25 2025

In our last episode of this series, we explored the character of God as revealed in Exodus 34:6-7, where He describes Himself as "compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth." We traced this idea of lovingkindness, meaning: “loyalty; or faithfulness. God is loyal love. Turning to the New Testament how this same love is revealed in Jesus' teachings. One of the most powerful examples is found in Luke 15:11-32, the parable of the prodigal son.

In this episode of the SimplyRevised Podcast, Brenda and I introduce our new series, Unshakable Love. As we discuss God’s Love, we talk about the importance of Scripture in understanding His love. What a great gift we have in God’s word. To have a copy of the Scriptures in our home is something that not all Christians have had or even have today. Many places worldwide still do not have full access to the Scriptures in their own language. Let’s take advantage of the gift we have and study together. We would love to hear your thoughts and questions about this series, so please feel free to share them with us.
