  • Episode #20: Mailbag Madness - Childhood Dreams, Shifting Beliefs, Podcast Impact, Marking the Days, and Healing Prayer
    Mar 13 2025

The mailbag is still bursting at the seams, so we’re back for another round of questions! From childhood dreams (astronaut, anyone?) to theological shifts, we’re unpacking how our beliefs have changed, the impact this podcast has had on listeners, and whether waiting until Day 4 to make the sun is a biblical plot twist. Plus, we dive into healing prayer—does it work, and have we seen it firsthand? Tune in for deep dives, detours, and plenty of laughs along the way!

    (0:00) Introduction

(1:21) What did you want to be when you were a child?

(14:19) How have you seen or heard these episodes impacting the Rufflin' Feathers audience, and did any of it surprise you?

(20:00) In Episode #17 it was suggested that the sun and moon not being created until day 4 was a possible hint of a non-literal 24 hour creation. Might the sun and moon have been created to mark the Creators already determined length of a "day?"

(29:30) Have you ever asked God for healing (for you or someone else) and felt that God answered?

  • Episode #19: Mailbag Madness - Back to the Future, Eternal Flames, Roles in our Families of Origin, Urgency of Coming to Jesus, and Talking about Women's Roles
    Mar 6 2025

You asked, we answered—whether we should have or not is another question entirely! Welcome to our first ever Mailbag Episode, where we tackle the questions our listeners have on their minds. From deep theological quandaries and clarifying follow-ups on past episodes to the kind of curiosities that make you wonder how our listeners’ minds work, nothing is off-limits. It's March Mailbag Madness! Lord willing, we'll have 3 mailbag style episodes out to you this month.

    This week we tackle:

    (0:00) Introduction

(1:29) If you could ask your future self on question, what would it be?

(4:54) What about Jesus' words talking about "eternal flames" in Matthew? Does that help support the traditional view of hell?

(11:32) How do our personal roles in our families of origin play into who we are? Do they represent our "true selves?"

(17:32) What is the urgency for people to come to Jesus if they will eventually see Him anyway?

(25:32) Would you be willing to have a discussion on women's roles in the home and church?

  • Episode #18: Creation, Evolution, and the Beginning of All Things (Part 2)
    Feb 6 2025

The debate isn’t over yet! In part two, we keep the conversation going, tackling tough questions: What’s at stake in how we understand creation? Can Christians disagree on this and still break bread together? Whether you’re a young-earther, a theistic evolutionist, or secretly wondering if we’re all part of an alien science experiment, this episode is for you.

  • Episode #17: Creation, Evolution, and the Beginning of All Things (Part 1)
    Jan 30 2025

In the beginning… well, how exactly did it all begin? Some say God used evolution; others say that doesn’t fly with the Bible. In this first of a two-part conversation, we take a deep dive (or should we say, take flight?) into the origins debate. Can science and faith coexist? Does Genesis leave room for evolution? And are we really just glorified stardust—or handcrafted in the image of God? What might a curious, civil conversation between people who don't agree look like? Buckle up—this one’s going to ruffle some feathers.

  • Episode #14: Meekness- Virtue or Vulnerability?
    Oct 17 2024

Meekness is one of those words that doesn’t always get the respect it deserves. In a culture that seems to value aggression and dominance, we often equate meekness with weakness. But what if it’s actually about strength under control? Here’s the question: What IS meekness? Are we naturally inclined toward it, or do we tend to ruffle our feathers at the idea? And how do we even begin to live out the kind of meekness that Jesus called blessed?

In the spirit of meekness, we humbly ask… wait, scratch that. We boldly ask you to leave us a 5-star review, drop a comment, and weigh in on the Spotify poll. Let’s be honest, meek or not, we could use some love!

    Oct 3 2024

In this episode, we're flying straight into the stormy skies of what it means to face trials as a Christian. Join us and our special guest ('migratory bird'), Kris Wint, as we dig into the tough questions: Is persecution a guaranteed pitstop on the Christian journey? Does the fact that so many of us haven't faced it mean something about the state of our faith? Or are we missing the feathers that prove the bird?

Have a listen and then let us know what you think in the comments and with the Spotify poll!
