    Hey there, friend! It’s been quite a week here in Monroe. We started off on a somber note with the world bidding farewell to Pope Francis. His passing on Easter Monday surely tugged at our hearts, as we all joined in prayers for wisdom and peace.

    Here at home, we switched gears to celebrate National Park Week, proudly spotlighting our top-notch parks and what they offer for families and nature lovers alike. And guess what? Warbirds Over Monroe airshow is back this November, promising even more excitement despite some airport construction. Stay tuned for the deets!

    Our outdoor water park is making a splash soon, literally! It's such a gem for affordable fun, and trust me, it's perfect for creating those summer memories we all cherish.

    Did you catch Friday's music event on Main? It was nothing short of fantastic, turning our downtown into a hub of joy and togetherness. And the Sunday skate at the Science Center? A blast with music, ramps, and a hearty cookout by our awesome police department. Talk about community spirit!

    Hey there, Monroe! Welcome to another edition of the Mayor's Minute, where we dive into last week's lively happenings in our vibrant town. This week was packed with everything from giggles to heartfelt goodbyes. We kicked things off with a hilarious prank for April Fool's Day, where a fake proclamation had some folks wondering if we'd really renamed Union County. It was all in good fun!

    April 2nd brought Autism Awareness Day, where our Special Needs and Disabilities Committee took charge by setting up ways to keep our kiddos safe. Feeling proud of all the amazing work being done!

    We also bid farewell to Chief Gilliard, who has been a keystone in our community. We're sure going to miss his steady leadership. But it wasn't all goodbyes - the Unison resource fair at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church was a bang-up success! Loved meeting so many enthusiastic community members and our bright university students.

    Looking forward, we've got a city council meeting to tackle some important discussions. Oh, and the weather is just perfect, isn't it? It's a fantastic time to explore downtown, support local shops, and soak up the Monroe charm.

    Hey there! So, this week in Monroe was a whirlwind of fun and meaningful events. First up, don’t miss our Easter Egg-stravaganza on April 12th for some family fun!

    We’re buzzing with excitement as new spots like Vision Flex and the Homebrew Taproom make downtown the place to be. Shout out to Peter Carlin for his part in this lively revival!

    Our community really shined at the Senior Games, and we’ve seen such generosity at Hartford Monroe’s food drive and Kingdom Citizen Outreach Ministries. It’s incredible to witness everyone coming together.

    Let's give a massive thank you to Deputy Chief Greg Collins for his 30 years of service. His leadership has been rock solid and instrumental to Monroe’s safety and growth.

    Finally, major props to our economic development team for securing funds for expressway commerce. High-paying jobs and growth? Yes, please! That's the scoop for today, and remember, Monroe strong!
