The sports world never sleeps, and neither do we. On this week’s episode, The Mike Scully Show breaks down the NFL Free Agency frenzy, dives deep into the college hoops tournament drama, and talks golf’s most intimidating hole. Plus, we’ve got The Hillbilly News Network, The Hammer Chronicles, and Sands My Paper to cap it all off. Buckle up – it’s a wild ride.

NFL Free Agency: The Dominoes Keep Falling

As if the offseason wasn't already chaotic, teams are making big-time trades and shaking up the league. Some of the most jaw-dropping moves include:

    • DK Metcalf to the Steelers – Pittsburgh gets a serious deep threat. Could this finally unlock their passing game?
    • Sam Darnold to the Seahawks, Geno Smith to the Raiders – It’s a full QB shuffle in Seattle. The Raiders get Geno, but is he the long-term answer?
    • Joey Bosa to the Bills, DeAndre Hopkins to the Ravens – Buffalo bolsters its defense while Lamar Jackson gets another elite weapon in Baltimore.
    • Justin Fields to the Jets, Daniel “Indiana Jones” Jones to the Colts – Fields gets a fresh start in New York, while the Colts make a gamble on Daniel Jones.
    • Houston trades Laremy Tunsil to Washington, Eagles’ Kenneth Gainwell to the Steelers, Najee Harris to the Chargers – Some major pieces are moving, and the Steelers are stacking up talent.
    • Davante Adams to the Rams – LA just made a massive power move by snagging one of the best receivers in the game.
    • Still out there: Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Cooper Kupp – Who lands where? The offseason drama is far from over.
March Madness Is Here – Who’s In, Who’s Out?

College basketball fans, this is our time of year. The tournament is just around the corner, and bubble teams are sweating it out.

    🚨 Teams on the edge:

    • Texas vs. Vanderbilt – Can the Longhorns hold on?
    • Georgia vs. Oklahoma – Both teams need a statement win.
    • Ohio State vs. Iowa – The Big Ten battle rages on.
    • Arkansas vs. South Carolina – SEC showdown with tournament hopes on the line.

🏆 Player of the Year Race:

    • Cooper Flagg (19.4 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 4.2 APG) – The kid is lighting it up and making a serious case for the award.
    • Johni Broome (18.6 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 3.3 APG) – A dominant force down low who keeps Auburn rolling.

One of these guys is about to etch his name in history.

    The Players Championship – A Three-Peat and Tiger’s Setback

🏌️‍♂️ Scottie Scheffler is going for three in a row at TPC Sawgrass, but the bigger story is Tiger Woods. The golf legend ruptured his Achilles, a brutal injury that could sideline him for a long time. Is this finally the moment he steps away from the game for good?

And let’s talk about the infamous Par 3 17th hole – that 132-yard island green that eats golf balls for breakfast. What would you hit from that distance? The guys break it down and give their takes on the most stressful tee shot in the sport.

Final Thoughts: The Hillbilly News Network, The Hammer Chronicles & Sands My Paper

As always, we wrap things up Scully-style. This week, The Hillbilly News Network delivers the latest unfiltered takes, The Hammer Chronicles go off the rails, and Sands My Paper makes sure somebody gets put on blast.

  • The Mike Scully Show - EP 4
    Feb 28 2025
The Mike Scully Show – February 27, 2025

Hosted by Mike Scully, with his rowdy band of co-hosts: The Hebrew Hammer Eliot, Trick from South Alabama, and Hillbilly from West Virginia. Strap in—this week’s show is loaded with gridiron gossip, college chaos, and some good ol’ fashioned sports debates.

Segment 1: NFL Scouting Combine – The Meat Market is Open

It’s that time of year again when NFL coaches, GMs, and agents descend on Indianapolis like vultures on a fresh roadkill. The Scouting Combine is in full swing, and we’ve got a parade of college kids trying to prove they can run, jump, and bench press their way into a fat contract.

    • Shedeur Sanders is keeping his cleats clean—he’s not working out. Maybe he figures he's already got enough game tape to impress, or maybe he just didn’t want to risk pulling a hammy before cashing in.
    • Travis Hunter is doing defensive drills only. Smart move? Or should he flex his WR skills too?
    • Cam Ward—what’s his deal? Is he a first-rounder, or is he about to take a freefall like a stock after a bad earnings report?

Meanwhile, drama is bubbling over in the NFL like a pot of day-old chili:

    • Jets players are pissed about Aaron Rodgers ghosting them. Quinnen Williams is especially salty. Maybe they should’ve seen this coming—Rodgers disappearing isn’t exactly new.
    • The Franchise Tag Window is open until March 4th, meaning teams have about a week to decide who’s getting locked in like an ex who won’t take the hint.
    • Free Agency starts March 10th—who’s cashing out? Rumors are flying that the Colts may have an open QB competition. Also, is Anthony Richardson in hot water?
    • Cleveland’s GM just laughed in everyone’s face when asked about a Myles Garrett trade. That man isn’t going anywhere.
    • The Philadelphia Eagles are making headlines for two reasons:
      1. At least one player is saying "no thanks" to a White House visit.
      2. The NFL is considering banning the "Tush Push." Yep, the league is tired of Philly basically running a rugby scrum on every third-and-one.

This segment is brought to you by Jan-Pro SWFL – Frank Papasodero. If you need your office cleaned up as well as the Jets need their locker room drama cleaned out, call Frank.

Segment 2: College Football Playoff & March Madness – The Playoff Drama Never Ends

The College Football Playoff Committee is meeting up to discuss some big changes, and, just like your uncle arguing politics at Thanksgiving, things are getting heated.

    • The big idea? Instead of giving byes to the top-ranked conference champs, they might just go with the top four teams, period. Translation: If your conference is weak, tough luck.
    • The 2026 playoff structure is starting to take shape, and surprise, surprise—it’s leaning toward a 14-team format that heavily favors the SEC and Big Ten. Shocker.

Meanwhile, college basketball is gearing up for the madness:

    • Selection Sunday is creeping up (March 16), and the tournament picture is clearing up like a windshield after a fresh Rain-X coat.
    • 30 teams are locked in, nine teams are sitting pretty, and 22 teams are in the danger zone, praying they don’t choke in these final weeks.
    • Notable teams boosting their résumés this week: Indiana, North Carolina, Georgia, Cincinnati, and San Diego State are all stacking up wins like a college kid stacks overdue bills.

    🔹 Must-Watch Games This Week

    • #1 Auburn vs. #17 Kentucky – The Tigers are rolling, but can Kentucky play spoiler?
    • #10 Texas Tech @ Kansas – It’s always a fight when these two meet.
    • #22 Arizona @ #9 Iowa State – Can Arizona make a late push?
    • West Virginia @ #25 BYU – A must-win for both teams.
    • #12 Texas A&M @ #3 Florida – The Gators are hungry for a top seed.

It’s a packed show, so grab a beer, settle in, and let The Mike Scully Show break it all down for you. No fluff, no nonsense—just straight sports talk with a side of trash talk.
