Dear Diary,

Another exhausting day in Washington. Tried to explain to my colleagues that growing up in Appalachia taught me important survival skills, like knowing which gas station has the least expired beef jerky and how to convince people I'm "relatable" while attending Yale Law School. Today I spent three hours practicing my "concerned but not too elitist" face in the Senate bathroom mirror. A janitor walked in and asked if I was okay. I told him I was just "connecting with my hillbilly roots" and he slowly backed out of the room. My PR team says I need to seem more authentic, so tomorrow I'm wearing overalls to a committee meeting. This should go over well with my investment banker friends.
