  • Chris Johnson of the Passion Pod: The story behind one of WI's fastest growing podcasts
    Mar 12 2025

Chris' life took a turn within a year he had his first kid, his parents got divorced and his Dad ended up having a heart transplant. It made him look in the mirror and ask himself if he died tomorrow how would he feel about what he did with his life.

This sparked Chris' entrepreneurial journey where he opened up a skateboard shop in Eau Claire that he ran for 10 years and ultimately launched the Passion Pod right before the pandemic hit in 2019.

The show is now one of the hottest podcasts coming out of Wisconsin and has a guest lineup featuring a lot of recognizable national musicians and celebrities.

If you're looking to learn more about what it takes to start and grow a show or make a career pivot and start chasing your passion this episode is for you.

  • Richie & Rayshawn: An Eventful First Year of Big Brothers Big Sisters
    Mar 5 2025

What's it like to go from no kids to mentoring a high energy 6 year old through BBBS? It's been an adventurous and very rewarding last year.

Over a year ago I was looking at volunteer opportunities in the Milwaukee area and wanted to make a difference. I looked into Big Brothers Big Sisters, since I had some friends Glenny Crawford and Dusty Weis that are part of the program and had great things to say about it and the impact that you can have. I also remembered my Dad mentoring through a different program while I was growing up which ultimately inspired me to sign up.

And I went through the process applied, got my fingerprints, interviewed with someone from BBBS, went through a training and then they match you with a kid that they feel is a great match.

So last January after going through the process I met Rayshawn, a high energy 6 year old at the time and his Mom and everything going approved and we were off.

And it’s been an amazing, very eye opening fun year, I had a lot of respect for full time parents before this experience but I can say after being responsible for keeping a 6 year old alive for a few hours a week I’ve got a whole new level of respect for you parents out there who are responsible 24/7.

Before we dive in I would like to say if you feel inspired to get involved there is a big need right now as there are 500 kids on the waitlist alone, waiting for a mentor due the demand.

And there are more ways to help out then what I do that are a little lower commitment than the “community based mentoring I do” - some are just after school, some are once a month and those are also very important--- so if you are interested at all or have any questions feel free to reach out to me directly happy to help.

  • Tommy G: Inside the Dangerous World of MKE based YouTube Sensation
    Feb 26 2025

You may know him for his crazy weekly documentaries on YouTube that rack up millions and millions of views per month but you probably didn’t know that Tommy knocked on my door in 2018 trying to sell me payroll services, that he started a prank channel that never got off the ground, the he got fired from two jobs and had his back against the wall before releasing his KIA Boyz documentary two years ago.

The video has gotten 8 million views and he’s had his foot on the gas pedal since. Miguel and Keegan, Tommy G’s two right hand guys who are involved with the productions on a weekly basis join us as well.

It’s a fascinating episode where we cover:
    How Tommy got into YouTube
    Their weekly process
    The teams most terrifying moments
What their parents think of what they are doing
    Tommy’s community involvement in Milwaukee
    Most interesting person interviewed
    And more
