The Evolution of Presidential Power

  • Resumen

  • What can and can't the president do — and how do we know? The framers of the U.S. Constitution left the powers of the executive branch powers deliberately vague, and in doing so opened the door for every president to decide how much power they could claim. Over time, that's become quite a lot. This episode originally ran in 2020 and has been updated with new material.

Andy Rutelevich is giving a misleading take on Executive Power.

at no point does Professor Rudalevich give any perspective on the constitutions policy against delegation of powers. he further concludes his assessment by blaming Congress for delegation of authority and the lack of "housekeeping". This is misleading, as it gives no perspective on the legal culpability of an executive branch giving broad authority akin to the creation of Doge, places the illness squarely on the shoulders of Congress. I fear the professor has dipped a toe into propaganda of a sinister sort.
