Acerca de esta escucha
Today we were observed in live sessions as part of our assessment, a big moment in the week! We also explored how to close a session effectively, which brought up a deeper question for me:
“What’s the point of being a great counselor if we can’t attract and retain clients, or navigate the systems around our work?”
This led me to ask about the business side of practice, because without sustainable systems, people who need support might never find us.
Today’s main insights:
- Be ‘client-led’ in everything and trust that if I offer something of value, the right clients will come and be best served.
- Consent comes with payment. It marks a conscious agreement to engage, and it carries energetic weight.
- Clients (and counselors!) shouldn’t live in constant self-work. As a season of therapy ends, come up for air and ask: Do we pause here, or continue the journey?
