Episode Description:
In this episode of The YLF30 Podcast, I’m getting into one of my biggest frustrations with the fitness industry... professionals who talk at you instead of working with you. If you’ve been on your fitness journey for years or decades, you know your body, your preferences, and your life better than anyone. So why should someone who doesn’t live your day-to-day tell you exactly how to live it?
I want you to see yourself as the expert of your own life. You’ve got the experience. You’ve built a foundation. Whether you’ve followed programs in the past or not, you’re the one with the real-world knowledge of what works for you. That’s why I’m always reminding people to tune out the noise from influencers who position themselves as the expert of your life. You don’t need that. You need guidance and collaboration... not control.
If you’re new to the inside/out approach, this episode is a great entry point. It’s about owning your path and recognizing that even if you decide to work with someone like me, you’re still the architect. I can help add context and tools, but the direction comes from you.
We also talk about how control and responsibility play a major role in sustainable fitness and life transformation. Once you start seeing yourself as the one in charge, you’ll find ways to handle the tough stuff... and stop stressing over what’s out of your hands.
You’ll hear some tangents in this one too. That’s part of how I process things and connect ideas. If you like that vibe, you’ll love The Your Level Fitness Podcast as well.
