Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) is a political sci-fi thriller directed by Nicholas Meyer and serves as the final film featuring the entire original Star Trek cast. The story centers on the fragile peace negotiations between the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire, which are threatened when the Klingon chancellor is assassinated, and Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy are framed for the crime. William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, and Christopher Plummer (as the Shakespeare-quoting Klingon General Chang) deliver standout performances. The film is a Cold War allegory, released shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and explores themes of fear, prejudice, and change.
