  • Father’s Day Special: NFL Coach DeLand McCullough’s “Runs in the Family” — A Powerful True Story of a Son Who Discovers His Biological Father Was There All Along, Leading to a Reunion So Incredible It Feels Like a Real-Life Movie.
    Jun 15 2025
“What story are you living and what story are you leaving.” DeLand McCullough In this powerful Father’s Day special of The Pivot Podcast, Ryan, Fred, and Channing sit down with Super Bowl-winning coach DeLand McCullough for one of the most incredible and inspiring conversations about family and faith. Known for his work on the field, DeLand opens up about the deeply personal journey off the field that reshaped his life — discovering his biological father as an adult and learning how that revelation changed his understanding of identity, fatherhood, and destiny. It’s the kind of story you’d think was scripted in Hollywood — a man at birth grows up never knowing his biological family, becomes a star athlete and championship coach, and then, in a twist no screenwriter could invent, discovers that the mentor who helped shape his football journey is actually his biological father. It’s a full-circle moment filled with fate, family, and rejuvenation — a real-life ‘long-lost father’ story that doesn’t just tug at your heartstrings, it rewrites them. Through candid reflection and heartfelt honesty, he talks about what it means to be a father — to his own sons, including those following in his football footsteps — and how the lessons he's learned have molded the man he is today. This isn’t just a conversation about football — it’s about the bonds that define us, the stories we carry, and the choices we make that can break generational cycles and that faith is real if you allow it to lead you. We get into all the hows, the whys and whats but for more detailed perspective, check out DeLand's book- Runs In The Family, for a written adaptation of his story, one that seems fiction but as real as it comes. Tune in and Pivot with purpose on this day, as we celebrate Father’s Day with a story that will move you, inspire you, and remind you of the strength in every day. Learn more about your ad choices. • Jack Jones: NFL Free Agent on a Journey of Redemption — From USC to ASU, Patriots to Raiders, Big Plays vs Mahomes & Rodgers, Snoop's Influence, Second Chances & Accountability as He Eyes His Next Team.
    Jun 13 2025
"Playing in the NFL is a privilege and if you don't take advantage of that privilege, you are going to lose it in a heartbeat." Jack Jones NFL Free Agent In this powerful and unfiltered episode of The Pivot Podcast, NFL free agent Jack Jones joins Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor, and Channing Crowder to speak candidly about the road less traveled — a path marked by talent, turbulence, and turning points. Once a highly touted prospect with game-changing potential, Jack’s NFL journey has been anything but smooth. From academic ineligibility at USC and legal trouble in college, to his surprising rise with the Patriots and a second chance in Las Vegas, Jack opens up like never before. Known for his electric plays and having some of his best games against the league's best in Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Justin Herbert...Jack is ready to get back on the field and show the world he's still that guy. With free agency looming and a chip on his shoulder, Jack talks about how he’s stayed mentally tough, why he believes his best football is still ahead of him, and what it’s really like trying to rebuild a reputation in a league that doesn’t wait for anyone. He shares how poor decisions nearly derailed his career, the humbling reality of being waived, and how public criticism and personal reflection forced him to mature. Jack talks about the emotional toll of being misunderstood, the pressure of growing up fast in the NFL spotlight, and the accountability he’s had to develop as a man off the field. Growing up in Long Beach had its fair share of challenges but having Snoop, a musical and cultural icon, be a mentor and leader in his football league, he understood that having a strong support system is what keeps you grounded. This isn’t just a football conversation — it’s about ownership, self-awareness, and rebuilding from the inside out. With his future in the league uncertain, Jack discusses how he’s training harder than ever, shifting his mindset, and why he’s now focused not just on proving people wrong, but proving himself right. If you’re looking for an honest conversation about growth, second chances, and the hard lessons that shape real change — this one’s for you. Don't forget to subscribe and comment! Big Steelers and RC fan but never got into podcasts until now. The Pivot is an awesome mix of personalities and life lessons from all walks of life, not just football. But of course great football talk. Also I got a new love and respect for Crowder and Freaky Freddy Taylor. It's like hanging out with your best buddies and shooting the shit for hours on end. Highly recommended!

Great life lessons and stories
