    May 13 2025

Ingredient splitting is one of the oldest tricks in the book, and it's designed to deceive us as consumers into believing a product is better than it actually is.

“Meat first” dog and cat foods - sounds great, but it's a marketing trick designed to trick you.

  • Why do we feed our dogs the same sh*t every meal?
    Apr 8 2025

I wrote about this on my How To Feed A Dog Blog many years ago - why do we feed our dogs the same brand of relatively tasteless dry dog food for every single meal and believe it is the right thing to do.

With my experience of pet foods and pet food marketing, it has to be said a pet food company loves to lock you in to their product for the lifespan of your dog.

This doesn't mean it's right, and it doesn't mean it's healthy.

Take a minute to consider yourself eating the same processed food for each and every meal. Not only would that be uninteresting, it is likely over time you will become intolerant of other foods, and if you reintroduce them into your diet you may get belly ache or diarrhea.

I advocate a varied (but appropriate) diet for our pet dogs and cats, both animals I view as carnivorous, and this is how I've fed my own pets for many years.

Be sure to read the many articles about feeding our pets on my website https://www.petfoodreviews.com.au/, and if you find the content useful please like or upvote this podcast.

    Thank you!
