  • Join Brian and Jamie as they briefly discuss their current relationships with their adult children, and how they love to hang out with them and their friends. They discuss the temptation for parents to over-function, and to "impose" their wills onto their children when they're becoming young adults, needing to figure things out for themselves - meaning that they will inevitably make mistakes that we parents desperately want them to avoid - but how detrimental that can be, many times leading to resentment. They share how "backing off" a litte, interjecting their opinions (and yes, wisdom and experience) only when asked is the thing that will draw those adult kids into a loving, friendship that will last a lifetime.
