Neon and Bamboo

Almost everyone who visits Hong Kong marvels at the massive bamboo scaffoldings that cling to the side of the city's towering skyline. In this episode, cultural preservationist Cardin Chan tells me about a close relative of this feature of Hong Kong life, bamboo theatres. They're huge temporary structures built for festivals. We also chat about efforts to preserve the city's disappearing neon signs.
