  • Teaser: The many ways ADHD has affected me over the years!
    Apr 16 2025

In a candid and open update, the host shares their recent mental health journey, emphasising the importance of talking about these experiences so others know they're not alone. The episode focuses on their 2024 diagnosis of inattentive ADHD, a condition they initially didn't recognise, having only been aware of the hyperactive form.

They detail the "aha!" moments, the online tests, and the eventual professional diagnosis, explaining how many lifelong experiences, like constant mental noise, stimming behaviours, and a need for specific music, now make sense in the context of ADHD.

The host also discusses the challenges of social situations and anxiety, which led to excessive drinking in the past, and how medication has since altered their relationship with alcohol. Task paralysis and overstimulation are highlighted as significant hurdles.

They touch upon the common ADHD trait of hyper-fixation

    on hobbies.

The host reflects on the feeling of having lived life with an undiagnosed condition, the missed opportunities, and the impact of anxiety.

Currently prioritising personal well-being and family, the host finds less desire for socialising and drinking, embracing a life without masking.

  • The diagnosis that changed my life
    Apr 13 2025
Everyone's being diagnosed with ADHD. Me too. It's flipped my world and I feel the need to talk about it...like everyone else. I work in radio in NZ and have a 25 year career on and off the air. Not knowing I had ADHD has made my life up to now kind of....hard..
