Appointed in 2016 as Dallas County's first African-American female District Attorney, Faith Johnson was the first African-American female elected as a criminal district judge in Texas. She handled thousands of felony cases ranging from drug possession and theft to sexual assault, child abuse, and capital murder as a judge.
