“We need to be reminded that it’s not about us. It’s not about my rights or my fulfillment and happiness. It’s all about God!” Today we welcome back Moms in Prayer Heartland Division Coordinator, Rachel Raih, to talk through part two of 1 Corinthians chapter four. She encourages us to lay down our desires, be led by the Spirit and He will empower us to live the way that we should. When we are yielded to God, His power will work mightily in and through us!

    ABOUT OUR GUEST

Rachel clearly remembers when she heard about Moms in Prayer International on a Focus on the Family radio broadcast featuring our Founder, Fern Nichols. Her heart was stirred and now she has been praying in a Moms in Prayer group for 34 years! After serving for 10 years as our Iowa State Coordinator, she now serves as our Heartland Division Coordinator, overseeing seven states. She plans to continue to pray in a group as long as the Lord gives her the physical and mental ability.

Her oldest son battled severe asthma which resulted in a number of emergency room visits and hospitalizations throughout his childhood on up to college. She would battle anxiety and fear whenever he developed a runny nose or cough and a feeling of dread would come over her. Many weeks he would be the one of the four children that were covered in prayer in her Moms in Prayer hour. This brought great peace, hope and strength. God answered so many prayers on his behalf and today he is healthy and his asthma is well controlled.

Rachel lives with her husband, Darrel, of 46 years in Sioux Center, Iowa. They have four adult children and the wonderful blessing of being grandpa and grandma to eight grandchildren.

    SCRIPTURES

Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:25-28 NIV

Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Matthew 16:24-25 ESV

And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:3-5 ESV

“Lord, give me that soft, teachable, moldable heart. She reminds us of who we are in Christ and the joy of faithfully stewarding what He has given us. It is easy for us to fall into pride or comparison, but God has shown us a better way to live.

    SCRIPTURES

What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. 1 Corinthians 3:5 ESV

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. Matthew 7:3-5 NIV

    To fear the Lord is to hate evil;

    I hate pride and arrogance,

evil behavior and perverse speech. Proverbs 8:13 NIV

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV

give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV

  • 1 Corinthians 3:10-23 | Victorious in Motherhood | Amy Conrod
    May 26 2025

“We don’t have to measure up. We just have to rest in His love and grace for us.” Our Georgia State Coordinator, Amy Conrod, is back for part two of 1 Corinthians chapter three. She reminds us that there is always more grace for us! God doesn’t run out. He calls us to Himself to find rest for our weary souls.

    ABOUT OUR GUEST

Amy and her husband live in Georgia. She heard about Moms in Prayer on the radio when her two sons were beginning elementary school and felt God's call to pray for them. As a former first grade teacher, she also knew how vital prayers are for our schools. She continues to pray in a group for her two sons (now young adults) and daughter-in-law. She also has the joy of serving as the Georgia State Coordinator.

She will forever be grateful for this prayer ministry that has been a lifeline in every season. Learning how to battle against worry through praise and scripture-filled prayer with others has been one of God's greatest gifts. She wishes every Christian woman could experience the peace, hope, and encouragement that happens in a Moms in Prayer group.

    SCRIPTURES

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30 MSG

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:1-2 ESV
