Let's Talk About Myths, Baby! Greek & Roman Mythology Retold

De: Liv Albert
  • Resumen

  • The most entertaining and enraging stories from mythology (and, now, ancient history of the Mediterranean) told casually, contemporarily, and (let's be honest) sarcastically. Greek and Roman gods did some pretty weird (and awful) things. Gods, goddesses, heroes, monsters, and everything in between. Regular episodes every Tuesday, conversations with authors and scholars or readings of ancient epics every Friday.

CW/TW: far too many Greek myths involve assault. Given it's fiction, and typically involves gods and/or monsters, I'm not as deferential as I would be were I referencing the real thing.

Long time listener

Fantastic, love to listen often. Gave me a much better understanding of Greek mythology. I enjoy the host and her perspective on the obvious sexism of Greek myth.

Amazing and Engaging

Liv tells the tales of Greek mythology in a way that's fun, engaging and easy to understand even when some are so convoluted and confusing. She also makes amazing commentary and parallels to modern day issues and trends in a way that is refreshing. 10/10

A wonderful look into an interesting past

This is the best mythology podcast I've listened to by far. The host (Liv) has done so much research for us to be able to hear this podcast. they are even going out of her way to elaborate on older episodes! Honestly that's one of my favorite things about this podcast. Most do one episode on a specific thing and then it's done forever.

there is one thing that I miss about their early days though, the occasional cat cameo. That being said Liv is undoubtedly better now then they were then. I wish you all the luck and hard work Liv

Also if you are reading this review please go buy her book (and maybe her cocktail book too when it comes out)

Liv is a fresh and unique voice on mythology

Liv is such a fresh and unique voice on Greek Mythology. I'm so glad to have found the podcast and to have passed it on to friends who don't necessarily even love mythology or history.
