The Sqwatchers are Jim Peters and Joe Jenkins. Two buddies who really enjoy the woods. After a crazy night of a couple of Howls along with chatter we had to find out what it was we had just experienced. 10 years later here we are. The Sqwatchers were born.

About The Sqwatchers The Sqwatchers, comprised of Jim Peters and Joe Jenkins, are a Southern Illinois-based Bigfoot research team known for their hands-on approach to investigating sightings and evidence in the region. United by a shared love of hiking and a life-changing encounter with an inexplicable sound during a camping trip, they have become prominent figures in the local cryptozoology community. Operating part-time, they focus on three counties with active Bigfoot reports, documenting findings such as footprints, structures, audio, and sightings. Their work was highlighted at the Southern Illinois Bigfoot Conference on September 7, 2024, in Mount Vernon, where they presented evidence and offered guidance for aspiring researchers. The Sqwatchers emphasize the importance of preparation and observation, advising others to research thoroughly and remain vigilant in the field. Their contributions have helped elevate Southern Illinois’ status as a key area for Bigfoot research, with the state noted as fifth in the U.S. for sightings.
