On today’s Hello Houston, Ernie and Celeste continue covering the floods in Central Texas at the top of each hour. Houston Public Media reporter Dominic Anthony Walsh calls in to give us the latest, and they weigh in on Rep. Joaquin Castro calling for an investigation to find out what went wrong in warning and evacuating residents.

In the first hour of the show, Harris County District Clerk Marilyn Burgess joins to tell us about Houston’s new passport office, which promises to be more convenient and provide faster service for Harris County residents. Also, Dan Gordon of Gordon’s Education tells us about their upcoming documentary filmmaking camp.

Then, in the second hour, former Harris County Judge Ed Emmett and Rice University’s Jim Blackburn join us to share their thoughts on the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Beryl and the Central Texas floods. Plus, Judge Christine Weems and actor and real-life attorney John Raley discuss an upcoming Houston production of To Kill a Mockingbird featuring a cast composed of members of Houston’s legal community.
