On today’s Hello Houston, Ernie, Frank, and Celeste weigh in on today’s top stories at the top of each hour, including the U.S. Supreme Court allowing the Trump administration to resume dismantling the U.S. Department of Education, recent ICE crackdowns in Houston, and more.
In the first hour, we talk with Houston Public Media reporter Sarah Grunau, who discusses her reports highlighting the recent string of deaths at Harris County Jail. Also, we learn about a new exhibition at the Menil Drawing Institute called What Drawing Can Be: Four Responses with Associate Curator Kelly Montana and Houston artist Jillian Conrad.
Then, in the second hour of the show, we’re joined by Greater Houston Community Foundation’s Diana Zarzuelo and United Way of Greater Houston’s Mary Vasquez, who both break down the readiness and prevention mission of the Greater Houston Disaster Alliance.
Plus, we also discuss how parents can protect their kids online and offline during the summer with Kerry McCracken, Executive Director of the Children’s Assessment Center, a nonprofit committed to child safety and abuse prevention.
