Impolitic with John Heilemann

De: Audacy | Puck
  • Resumen

  • Join Puck’s chief political columnist, MSNBC/NBC News national affairs analyst, and best-selling author John Heilemann as he roams the corridors of power and influence in America on this twice-weekly interview show, taking you behind the scenes and beyond the headlines with the people who shape and shift our culture: icons and up-and-comers, incumbents and insurgents, moguls and machers in the overlapping worlds of politics, entertainment, tech, business, sports, media, and beyond. The conversations are rich and revealing, unrehearsed and unexpected … and reliably impolitic. A Puck-Audacy joint, new episodes drop every Wednesday and Friday.

  • Liev Schreiber: Slava Ukraini!
    Mar 17 2025
John is joined by acclaimed actor Liev Schreiber to discuss his humanitarian aid work in Ukraine, his friendship with Volodymyr Zelensky, and the efforts to bring an end to the war in his ancestral homeland. Schreiber explains why the apparent strategy behind Donald Trump’s efforts to forge a ceasefire and force both sides to the negotiating table strike so many Ukraine allies as baffling at best; in the Oval Office dustup between Zelensky and Trump, it was the Ukrainian president, not the American one, who was standing up for American values; the sharp turn against Zelensky by so his once-steadfast Republican supporters is so shocking and infuriating; and the claims by many on the right that Zelensky doesn’t really want the war to end are so ludicrous—and insidious. Schreiber also breaks news by revealing his plans to return to the stage this spring as part of a new theater company, Together Productions, being founded by his friend, Hugh Jackman. • Jake Auchincloss: Acquiescing to Chaos & Corruption
    Mar 14 2025
John is joined by Massachusetts Democratic congressman Jake Auchincloss to discuss how his party is handling the clash over a government shutdown and the broader challenges of Donald Trump's second term. Jake argues that voting for the Republican measure to fund the government is a mistake in terms of both policy and politics; the freakout in the worlds of business and finance about Trump’s trade war is nothing compared to what we’ll see when (Jake predicts) Trump tries to take over the Fed; the cowering of Speaker Mike Johnson before Elon Musk is “pathetic”; and ordinary voters are “livid” about Trump’s nastiness towards Volodymyr Zelensky and cozying up to Vladimir Putin. Jake also avers that Rahm Emanuel has it right when he says his party should spend more time talking about what goes on in America's classrooms than its locker rooms or bathrooms. Points of view

I first saw John Heilemann on Nicks Wallace’s MSNBC show and I liked listening to his point of view of the various topics. It’s better here because it’s more than a few minutes.
John’s guests are the best of the best so thanks for letting us get to hear their full opinions on whatever is going on at the time.

Insightful and important!!

Thank you so much for what you do, John and for bringing a very pertinent guest on, such as Debbie Dingell. The piece with her on The Circus was something I often revisited because it brought such high hopes to the eminent election of Joe Biden .They were hopes for much needed change to the political climate. This deeper dive really shed light into the important causes Ms. Dingell values and her invaluable work in Congress. I’d like to thank her for her bravery in sharing personal experiences that will undoubtedly help people in domestic violence situations and also surprisingly, in vaccine hesitations matters. You are such a brilliant light ,John and I personally thank you for drawing out many important points from Not only this interview, but every one you undertake!

Great News!

I learned so much! Maybe I don't want to live forever but the possibility of living longer with a better quality of life has never been more accessible than it is today. I can't wait to watch the PBS series. I will find it and enjoy it I'm sure. thank you John Heilman for having such interesting guests!
