  • The Perfect Messy Bun, Spain Prep, and When Running Starts to Click
    Apr 8 2025

Messy buns, marathon goals, and the math of squeezing in a run before a flight—this one’s got it all. We cover the evolution of early 2000s hairstyles (Michelle’s signature ponytail, Carolyn's swimmer-perfect messy bun), dramatic taper week injuries (yes, from making a reel), and the questionable ways Michelle consumes electrolytes. Carolyn preps for Spain while debating whether to raw dog the flight to the Zwift theme song, and Michelle casually gets her marathon PR wrong. We talk about the upcoming Zwift trip, Boston goals, future race plans (Rose Bowl Half? St. George?!), and the moment running just starts to click. Plus: ironman guy energy, emo phases, and why people are always surprised Carolyn’s not tall?

Next episode: the Spain recap and Boston ramp up!

  • Calamari Pre-Race, Upcoming Brand Trip(!) & Exotic Long Runs
    Apr 1 2025

In this week’s episode, Carolyn and Michelle discuss everything from long runs to swimming to Carolyn's upcoming brand trip. Carolyn opens up about her obsession with national park gift shops and they both agree: normalize wearing driving gloves when your nails are wrecked.

Carolyn has been flip-turning since the womb, Michelle raced a stranger on the bike path (it was his fault), but he also probably didn't know it was a race. Did you know that Friday long runs make you a lil exotic? Plus: pre-race calamari, peeing (or not) during endurance events, calculating salt intake, and the one baby name on Michelle’s list that she already hates and she's open for you to use.

Bonus: you'll find out who has a superior middle toe, Carolyn admits her love for airplane food (a red flag?), and babies with the name Bruce are born with a strong jaw, and that's based on science.

  • LA Marathon Recap, Trust Funds, and Twerking During a Race
    Mar 25 2025

In this episode, we recap a BIG one: the LA Marathon. But first - what would you do if you wanted a sandwich, but they only have quiches? Huge PRs were had, but not without chafing and questionable handheld water bottle storage. We get into everything from emotional math mid-race to the cult-like energy of pace groups and an interesting realization—do you share your marathon PR from your watch or the official course time?

    Also featuring:

    •Carolyn’s proud post-race pee moment

•PSA: Don’t open your Liquid IV with your teeth

•Would you rather fuel your LR with Maurten or eat a steak dinner?

•The existential fear of dropping your phone into a porta-potty

•Rhombus-shaped butt chafing and marathon twerking

•Perfect poop mornings, race day influencers, special shoelaces, and why PRs feel weird

Shout out to Micah, Magellan’s spiritual descendant navigating Dodger Stadium, and everyone who has ever cooked a meal after running 26.2 miles on pure willpower.

And yes—Michelle really did say there are 22 weeks in a year.

  • Marathon Week, Penis-Shaped Runs & Poisoned Gel
    Mar 18 2025

Michelle survived the long run from hell (spoiler: she tried to hit marathon pace, fueled by oatmeal, chia, and two large coffees - you can guess the rest) and Carolyn is days out from the LA marathon still in-between carbon plated shoes. Tib is not tibbing and shin is not shinning.

Today is all about marathon running, for ex. the difference in taper between marathoners and triathletes. But we also cover:

    We also cover:

    • The real reason the last episode didn’t make it to YouTube (Michelle got the ick from herself).
    • Why marathons are like eggs
    • The undeniable superiority of penis-shaped running routes.
    • Rogue gels—would you pick one up off the ground? (If you say no, are you sure?)
    • The dangerous truth about CO2 (mostly related to whipped cream).
    • Do Oceanside 70.3 and Surf City Marathon slap or suck? Could be both.
    • Craving salt & vinegar chips = You’re officially an adult.
    • Horoscopes for the 100th time.

Finally, Michelle asks Carolyn to look at the moon at the same time as her tonight, wholesome.

  • Marathon Taper, Hell Ya’s, & WTF’s
    Mar 11 2025

Nothing like dicussing the perfect taper strategy & where the gels should be stored pre race day. Carolyn and Michelle go deep into the pre-marathon chaos—should you run the day before or two days off before? Will expired gels fuel you or take you out?

Why the ef do people get unreasonably mad about running vests and is it genetically sound why Carolyn rubs her feet together? Michelle, meanwhile, is busy preparing for the apocalypse by saving food in her teeth. They also explore the existential dread scenarios that never happened (#anxiety), the horror of tiny man fur in the bathroom, and why Michelle refuses to buy a new foundation shade just because winter is ending.

Also discussed: makeup while running, glitter sticker - is it safe for racing?, and other firm beliefs.

  • Bra Problems, Genetics, Triathlon Drama, & Hear Me Out
    Mar 4 2025
Nothing like an injury scare to become a mobility influencer, am I right? Carolyn may need a tetanus shot after this episode. Michelle is once again baffled by the technology of tubeless tires. They talk about genetics testing and insights, marathon training, and play a game of Hear Me Out but Michelle doesn’t follow the rules at all, and Carolyn is low key mad because she shares that Spirit the horse is kinda hot. Michelle focuses on business ideas like 1-800-MOMS and expanding metal. Cosmo has a new job, Michelle thinks that falling in her Jeffrey Campbells is similar to falling off a bike, Carolyn talks about an influencer event pre LA Marathon and her bathroom plunging journey, and Michelle reminisces on being a pacer for the Long Beach half marathon. The end of the episode gets more into the weeds of race tapering and pace group preferences, but throughout, this episode is weird af.

  • Influencing, Peeing in REM, and World Record Attempts
    Feb 25 2025

This podcast is brought to you by the dancing (potentially inebriated) people of Long Beach. Carolyn and Michelle briefly recap their runs and training leading up to LA and Boston but more importantly, dive into random facts including Carolyn’s storm chaser lifestyle and Michelle’s world record attempts. Lol to the emails brands send to influencers and content creators, lol to the sexy seagull, lol to Jordan’s midnight potassium dip, and lol to Carolyn’s hamsters, respectfully, Rebecca 1 and Rebecca 2. This is a good video pod so tune in and watch the ridiculousness unfold.

  • Long Runs, Edibles, & Saving Lives
    Feb 18 2025
In episode 10 Carolyn and Michelle discuss things they’re not about but only after sharing stories of the lives they've saved. Michelle shares her favorite gel at the moment (e-gel) while Carolyn survives a podcast post-20 miler. They dive into their edible experiences and Carolyn admits she’s not a thrill seeker (at least above water). They confuse dogs and birds and potentially have a lucrative business venture for Rolex. Some would say this is a do-not-miss episode.
