Fascism and its ties to Capitalism

  • Resumen

  • This is an interview with Michael Parenti from 1993 with some interesting dialogue on capitalism and how it works with and shares an underlying ideology with authoritarian systems of thought. Industrialists believe they're superior due to their exploitations of people and nature while capturing more power and money for it. And who wouldn't feel superior for taking advantage of people and turning a profit? Ahh, the American dream, impoverish third world countries so you can have more stuff, even the poorest among us have the grand opportunity to participate in this glorious profiteering.

But it turns out that type of arrogance has a lot in common with political leaders who also believe themselves superior to the common person, which is a necessary state of mind for someone to justify sending others off to fight wars while they sit in air conditioned comfort.

The interview runs about an hour, it's good stuff, better than most garbage coming out today, listen to it already.

Disclaimer: Parenti, as I understand his position to be, is in favor of state run communism, whereas I disagree with all 'isms under a nation state or social hierarchy. However his critique on capitalism is supremo fantastico, that means it's pretty darn good if you were confused by all my fancy lingo.
