In this episode Dr Matthew Campbell and I discuss L.L O'Mahoney (and colleagues including Dr Campbell) research paper called: Estimated glucose disposal rate as a candidate biomarker for thrombotic biomarkers in T1D. This paper is all about the risk of developing microvascular complications (small blood vessels - neuropathy and retinopathy) and macrovascular complications (big blood vessels - heart) due to insulin resistance.
