It Cannot Be Mastered

I hear every radio host at some time or another qoute Lord of the Rings, yet all of them seem to miss the main point of the story. 'You cannot weild it; it must be destroyed' Obviously, that is not in any of our power to do in this case, but it's troubling that every host I listen to, who 1 year ago were warning about how dangerous this was, are now saying "It is a gift; why not use the Ring?" (for good, mind you) and forgetting what all the heroes in the story knew. "If I try to use the ring to do good, the ring will turn it to evil." You cannot take the good and leave the bad when it comes to this, anymore than Adam could eat one half of the forbidden fruit and thereby avoid the curse. Make a choice now. Things don't become clearer as the stakes get higher, they get blurrier. If you don't reject it now when it's only convenient, you will not reject it later when it's necessary. If Jesus hadn't been willing to go hungry in the wilderness, he wouldn't have been willing to die at golgotha. This is not a future choice.

The idea that an artificial god is being created with AI

I liked the concept that gives the awareness of what AI is and what it could be for the good and the evil. I disliked the concept of some all creator for things we can’t explain. I do respect Glenn and others for their beliefs even if they don’t align with mine. The takeaway for me is to always have control of AI as a tool or it will control you.
