The journey begins as old friends reunite, returning to Bitterton, a rugged frontier town precariously positioned at the borders of three powerful kingdoms. The party have been chasing the elusive Carnehan, a former companion turned thief, but their search has yielded little more than unanswered questions and a trail gone cold.

As the weary adventurers trickle back into town, they barely have time to catch their breath. The reunion is cut short when Useless, calls upon them to act. On the outskirts of Bitterton, a Tiefling captive is about to meet a grim fate at the hands of the Sons of Conrad, a brutal gang of witch hunters.
