Acerca de esta escucha
This week I’m joined by Director and Storyboard Artist, David Hartman. He’s the Director of the 2016 film, Phantasm: Ravager. Plus 25 years worth of other film and Television work like Godzilla: the Series, Astroboy, Jackie Chan Adventures, Laser Fart and the animated video for Rob Zombie’s American Witch. Just to list a few.
He’s also done storyboarding and artwork for Tenacious D, Bubba Ho-Tep, the Boondocks, Tranformers Prime, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, Extreme Ghostbusters and John Dies at the End and more.
Above all(?) He’s a phenomenal artist who loves to draw monsters!

ON ART: We talk about the benefits of drawing first thing in the morning, keeping your dogs away from your Apple Pencil, the disturbing drawings and destroyed toys of our childhoods, and how storyboarding on Bubba Ho Two led to David directing the 2016 film Phantasm Ravager. Plus a boatload of movie geek talk about Mario Baba Inframan YOR: the Hunter from the Future, Legend of Boggy Creek, Yeti: Giant of the 20rh Century. And David made short films for Dan Harmon, and Rob Schrab’s Channel 101. We talk about that too!
ON MONSTERS: At an early age, David had a run-in with a Bigfoot-like creature known as the Minnesota Iceman. Is the term “run-in” a wild exaggeration? Listen and find out!
