Prince Henry is a simple man — he just likes to fence and care for his daughter, Princess Rose, who is going through a tough time. So he decides to take her to an American theme park, Once Upon a Time Land. We meet Lacey, who plays Princess Sweet Pea. When Princess Rose meets her, she immediately becomes a big fan, and Lacey ends up waltzing with Henry. Obviously, at the time, Lacey doesn’t know they are real royalty. But the next day, she is pulled aside at work and told the truth about who they are — and that they want Princess Sweet Pea to show them around the park personally.

She does, and they get to talking. It turns out that Rose is deathly afraid of horses, but with Lacey's help, she’s able to conquer that fear and get on the merry-go-round! Impressed, Henry asks if she would be willing to come back with them to his home and help Rose ride a horse. Apparently, it’s a big tradition for the Order of the Lily ceremony. Lacey agrees.

When she gets there, she is constantly catching strays from Henry's mom and this one guy who really hates her. But none of it matters because she's helping Rose with her fear of horses and spending more time with Henry — and the sparks are flying. They even end up kissing when he shows her his special spot.

The Order of the Lily ceremony arrives, and Rose is really nervous. So Lacey rides alongside her, and it’s a big success. But the guy who hates her is furious and tells Lacey, “If you think you’re going to get Henry to fall in love with you, you’re out of your mind. You’re just a theme park princess.”

Things go from bad to worse when Lacey loses her theme park job after a photo leaks of her in her Princess Sweet Pea costume talking to Henry. Why is that a fireable offense? Who can say? Heartbroken, she decides to leave before the ball.

When she goes to return her costume to her old job, her boss tells her she has one more gig — and sends her out. When she does, it turns out the gig is just Henry and Rose. Henry tells her, “I love you. Please come back.” She does.

Cut to six months later: Henry proposes, Lacey says yes, and they kiss.

    Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTH

The Manetti-Hanahan's power comes back on, and Chuck is thrilled because the entire neighborhood will know thanks to his lights. The next morning, the power is still out, and lines are down everywhere. Josh shows up to bring Nora some coffee, and she is surprised he's still here but not upset. He comes in to help her finish putting the bike together. She asks why he's not on his flight, and he says it's canceled, but he's not sorry. He asks if something is happening between them, and she says what's happening feels like a repeat of high school — they're in different worlds. She tells him he should go so Theo doesn’t get confused, but she thanks him, and as he leaves, he touches her arm.

Lucy and Annie go to find Lucy's sister Sylvie. They find her at the bakery, and Sylvie apologizes for making things so crazy. Lucy responds that she needs a little crazy — and the guy.

The Manetti-Hanahans invite the neighbors over, but Kevin, Gabby, and their dad aren't interested. Their mom insists they're going. Chuck heads over to invite them, and he comes face-to-face with Manny. They agree on a Christmas truce. Once inside the house, Gabby and Katie make up, and Katie even helps Gabby finish her cooking audition video.

Danny is talking to Chuck when he notices Linda. They go to talk, and she's thrilled to learn that Danny told his gal pal he doesn’t want to jump into anything right now.

Lucy and Sylvie encourage Annie to take a chance. They bring some of the joy bars, and they’re a smash hit — plus, Sylvie invited Cole.

Theo figures out that Josh had been there and insists Nora take him to see Josh so he can give him his Christmas gift.

Grandma Lin tells her family she’s not feeling great, blaming too much Frito pie. But it gets her thinking — what if she’s not around next Christmas? She tells Marcus and Ella she wants them to get married today! She calls over Wally, who happens to be an ordained minister. The Lin family scrambles to figure out what to do. Marcus begs Ted to just tell Grandma the truth.

Danny and Linda continue talking and laughing until Evan walks in and sits between them.

Theo gives Josh his gift — a picture he drew — and Josh loves it.

Evan pulls Linda aside and says he thinks they both know he’s not her forever guy. He acknowledges it’s obvious she and Danny are the real deal. She thanks him for making her feel good even while getting dumped.

Grandma Lin and Connie discuss health scares, and Grandma calls in a favor.

Annie goes to apologize to Max for kissing him, but then he kisses her back and says he’s glad they both feel the same way.

Grandma Lin asks Ted if he’s excited about the wedding. He finally comes out to her, and she says he’s broken her heart — not because he’s gay, but because he didn’t feel like he could be honest with her.

The kids run in, announcing that the llama, Dasher, is missing! Chuck seizes the chance to put on his camo and lead a rescue mission — but Kevin shows up with Dasher before he gets far. Chuck apologizes to Kevin for what he said about Katie and invites him inside. Kevin sees Katie and Gabby hugging and apologizes to Katie. He puts the ring back on her finger, and they kiss.

Danny wastes no time and shoots his shot with Linda, giving her two tickets to Norway to see the northern lights. They kiss.

Connie gets a call from the doctor with good news — the test came back negative. Chuck tells her this is the best Christmas ever, and they hug.

Stacy tells Josh that while she doesn’t think they’re forever partners in life, she believes they’re still great business partners and wants to keep working together.

Grandma Lin tells Ted and Marcus they’re lucky to have found each other and looks forward to the wedding whenever it happens. Ted suggests they get married right then, and Marcus is all for it.

Josh takes his chance with Nora, and they end up kissing.

Cole shows up, and he and Lucy share their feelings. Everyone is sharing their feelings.

The wedding happens, there’s confetti, and an absolute banger of a song plays. They all go outside to take a picture together.

  • When Calls the Heart - S12E10 - Through the Valley (2025) ft. Jacklyn Collier
    Mar 12 2025

    Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTH

We've got some class project presentations going on. Baby Jack is sleeping through class, so he's probably dying. She lets them loose outside, and Nathan comes by for lunch and to tell her that he has been promoted to Head Constable.
Edie comes to talk to Lucas. He is being sued for his executive order, and she is trying to get out from underneath McGinty's thumb.
Bill is surprised to see his old pal Georgie back in town, and he's not upset about it.
Elizabeth is helping student Emily come up with an idea for her project. She's been helping with the nut business, so they go to talk to Gowen, and he's like, "Oh, Emily is brilliant. She figured out something to do with sawdust." Sounds like she has a project idea after all.
Frickem & Mei decide that they're going to throw a harvest festival, as Mei's family used to do every year.
Nathan and Lucas go to talk to McGinty about his dirty contracts that are screwing farmers and Edie out of their land. McGinty is like, "I'd like a restraining order against the governor and Edie. Also, I'd like your daughter to pay a $25 trespassing fee." This makes Nathan really mad.
When he goes to talk to Allie about it, she breaks down and says she'll pay it.
Emily finds out that she missed the deadline to apply for college.
Bill and Georgie go to question the dumb Garrison they have arrested, who gives them some valuable information, none of which I'll bore you with here.
Allie goes to ask Elizabeth if she can change her project. She doesn't want to study the salmon anymore because of the trespassing situation. She's like, "We're not going to let him get away with this easily. Mr. McGinty is doing something wrong, and he shouldn't get away with it." When they go to talk to Nathan, Oliver is like, "I figured out how to get him. He's been using trees that only grow on Lee's land." So, they bring McGinty in and tell him that unless he forgives all the debts and the trespassing, Lee is going to press charges on him.
Georgie goes to thank Rosemary for her help in the Garrison case, which makes her very happy. Georgie then tells Bill that she's leaving, and he kisses her!
The next day, baby Jack goes missing! Nathan finds him unconscious in the woods. They bring him to Dr. Faith, and he's back, baby! Elizabeth tells Faith that he fell asleep in class and that he's always hungry. Faith runs some tests, and her worst fear is confirmed. She goes to tell Elizabeth that Baby Jack has diabetes, and Elizabeth is shocked. There is no cure for diabetes.

    Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTH

More flags. More royal music. It’s Reluctant Royal time, baby! Johnny is under a car, working his magic, muscles bulging. His girlfriend shows up to have it out with him and find out if he’s ready to take their relationship to the next level. He is not, so she breaks up with him. But then her car won’t start. Johnny works his magic, and off she goes. After work, he heads to the bar, where he’s selling his juice. The bartender isn’t thrilled to be selling juice, but it’s Johnny! Who can say no to Johnny?!

Cut to a palace where Prudence is helping keep things running smoothly. She goes to talk to the Duke, who is wanting to retire but has no one to take his place. That is, until Prudence discovers that he has a long-lost son.

So, she shows up to talk to that son. It’s Johnny. She arrives in the middle of his karaoke performance and tells him that his father, the Duke, would like to meet him. He’s not interested until she talks to his mom, who never really told him about his father. She encourages him to go and meet him, and so off he goes. Prudence is surprised when he shows up and begins to notice that he’s a bit rough around the edges. He won’t even change his clothes to abide by the dress code.

They meet, and you can tell they’re related because they both touch their hair when they’re uncomfortable. Johnny tells the Duke that he doesn’t want any money, he just wants to know why he left. This does not go well, so Johnny leaves and heads to a bar. Prudence tracks him down to try to convince him to stay. They agree to let darts decide his fate. Obviously, she wins, so back to the palace he goes.

He starts hanging out with Prudence, riding bikes, getting to know more about the palace, his father, and learning more about her. They ride horses, he makes juice, and he’s actually starting to enjoy himself. It’s time for his first royal fancy dinner. He has a cousin that he really dislikes. So, when he stands up and tells the Duke that he’s excited to take his spot, Johnny stands up and tells his dad that he’s had a change of heart—he’s in. His dad is thrilled.

He’s feeling a bit stressed, so he goes to work on a car. His dad comes out to join him, and they chat. This becomes a nightly occurrence. The next day, Prudence teaches him how to slow dance, and they almost kiss.

He finally has a heart-to-heart with his dad. He finds out that he never received the letter that Johnny’s mom sent telling him about Johnny. And she never got his letters. I guess his dad was monitoring the mail. It’s a sweet moment, and the next day they go for a ride in the car that Johnny fixed. Johnny takes his dad to his juice operation and invites them all to the royal dance.

Everything is going great until the cousin brings some shocking news: turns out Johnny’s right to the throne is illegitimate because Johnny was born after the marriage to Johnny’s mom was annulled. Johnny says, “Well, at least I got to meet my dad.” He goes to leave, and Prudence tries to stop him, but he leaves.

Prudence isn’t going to give up so easily and thinks she’s found something. She goes to make sure Johnny comes to the ball, where his mom is waiting for him. She announces that the annulment certificate isn’t authentic. The Duke is left-handed, and his signature leaves a smudge. This one doesn’t have a smudge, so it’s not his signature. In fact, the Duke and Johnny’s mom are probably still married! The cousin is furious and leaves.

Johnny and the Duke hug. Johnny gives a speech, and then he slow-dances with Prudence as everyone watches. They go outside, kiss—BIG OL' HONKIN’ ONES—and then run away. The next day, Johnny and Prudence are hanging out by the horses. Dad comes in and lets them know that one of Johnny’s other cousins, Desmond, is getting married, and they’re going to give him a horse. Johnny still has much to learn about his family tree.
