Dallas Metro Podcast (Episode #65) Featuring Special Guest Mildred DeJesus

  • Resumen

  • Join us for an inspiring conversation with Pastor Clay and his special guest Mildred DeJesus. Mildred is a dedicated pastor’s wife and ministry leader whose journey is as remarkable as her faith. Born on the island of Puerto Rico, Mildred’s early life took her from the vibrant Caribbean to Massachusetts, where she completed high school after moving there in eighth grade. Her path eventually led her to meet her husband, a native of upstate New York who spent most of his formative years in San Antonio, Texas. Together, they’ve built a life rooted in love and service, celebrating 29 years of marriage on March 16th and raising three adult children—all of whom now join them in ministry. With a two-year-old granddaughter named Arya and another grandbaby on the way, Mildred’s family is a testament to the generational blessings she passionately believes in.

Mildred’s ministry story is one of resilience and divine timing. Alongside her husband, she pastored in Oak Cliff, near Christ for the Nations, before a season of loss prompted a move to San Antonio to be near his family. After a decade there, including time as youth pastors under Pastor John Hagee at Cornerstone Church, they felt God’s call to return to Dallas for “unfinished Kingdom business.” Approaching 50, Mildred and her husband took a leap of faith, planting Victory Church in Lancaster at a Cinemark theater—a challenging setup that involved six months of setting up and tearing down. Their prayers for a permanent home were answered when they merged with Hill Church in DeSoto, forming Victory Hill Church in July two years ago. This union blended two congregations into one vibrant family, reflecting Mildred’s deep commitment to unity and community.

From her diverse roots—spanning a Jehovah’s Witness, Catholic, and agnostic background before a radical salvation at 19—to her current role, Mildred brings a unique perspective to ministry. Her experiences have shaped her into a compassionate leader who values relationships, as seen in her approach to speaking engagements like a recent women’s event at Dallas Metro Church. There, she not only shared a powerful message on Esther but witnessed the Holy Spirit move, breaking generational curses and igniting spiritual breakthroughs among the attendees. Fluent in Spanish, her first language, Mildred’s ability to connect across cultures shines through, making her a bridge-builder in every sense. Her story is one of staying the course, trusting God through life’s seasons, and inspiring others to do the same.

In this episode, Mildred opens up about the challenges and joys of pastoring in today’s world, offering encouragement to fellow ministry leaders and sharing practical wisdom on fasting and prayer—practices that have sustained her own journey. Whether you’re drawn to her multicultural background, her family’s legacy of faith, or her insights on building strong communities, this conversation is sure to uplift and motivate. Don’t miss out—subscribe and join us as we explore how Mildred and her husband are partnering with ministries like Dallas Metro to reach the next generation and transform lives in one of America’s neediest cities for children.
