  • JUDGEMENTS | Can you claim dementia as a criminal defence?

    68-year-old Allan Charles Gibson shot his wife at their Traralgon home in the early hours of April 14, 2016. He then tried to take his own life, but failed.

    Police arrested Gibson and tried him for murder. His defence team argued he was suffering from dementia and argued the court ought to take his mental condition into consideration.

    In this episode of Crime Insiders | Judgements, we go into the courtoom to discover if the court believed Gibson's dementia was a contributing factor in the murder of his wife.
