  • July 4th: Freedom in Jesus and the 4th of July (Galatians 5:13) | Carpooling with Jesus
    Jul 4 2025

🎆 Happy 4th of July, Carpool Crew! Whether you're headed to a BBQ, a parade, or just chillin’ with popsicles and sparklers, Pastor Justin is here—and today we’re talking about true freedom 🇺🇸❤️✝️

In Galatians 5:13, Paul reminds us:

"You were called to be free... but don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love."

    Today’s episode helps kids understand:

    • What real freedom looks like through Jesus

    • How Paul’s letter to the Galatians still matters today

    • That freedom isn’t just for relaxing—it’s for serving, loving, and living boldly

    • How simple acts like sharing cookies or including neighbors show freedom in action

🎇 And if Jesus were sitting next to you during tonight’s fireworks, He’d say: “You’re not just free in your country—you’re free in your life. Free to love. Free to serve. Free to shine.”

🎧 Before you go, answer this together as a family: What’s one way you can use your freedom this weekend to serve someone like Jesus would?

  • July 3rd: Jesus Leaves the 99 to Find You (Luke 15 Parable) | Carpooling with Jesus
    Jul 3 2025

Hey Carpool Crew! Whether you're buckled in for errands or barefoot in the backseat, Pastor Justin is here—and today’s episode is all about getting lost and being found. 🐑

We’re digging into Luke 15:4–7, where Jesus tells a story about a shepherd who leaves 99 sheep to find the one that wandered away. Sounds like a simple story, but it’s actually a powerful parable about God’s personal love for YOU.

When others saw certain people as too messy or too far gone, Jesus saw worth. He shared this story to show that:

    • You are not just one of many—you are seen and known

    • Jesus would go out of His way just to find you

    • His love isn’t earned—it’s freely given, even when we’ve messed up

    • We should celebrate and pray for those who come back to Him

🎧 Tune in and talk about this question together: What does this story teach you about how Jesus sees you—and how can you share that love with someone else this week?

  • June 30th: God Is With You When You’re Afraid – Isaiah 41:10 | Carpooling with Jesus
    Jun 30 2025

Hey Carpool Crew! Whether you’re hiking a new trail or heading off to a brand-new camp, I’m Pastor Justin—and today we’re diving into a Bible verse that’s worth remembering your whole life. It’s about fear—and what God actually says when we feel scared.

📖 Verse of the Day: Isaiah 41:10 (CSB) “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God.”

This verse comes from the book of Isaiah, written over 2,700 years ago to God’s people when their world felt scary and uncertain. And instead of giving them a to-do list or telling them to “be braver,” God gives them a promise: I am with you.

💬 In this episode, your kids will learn: – What Isaiah 41:10 meant then and why it still matters today – That God doesn’t mock or rush our fear—He meets us in it – What Jesus might say if He sat with us in our scariest moments – How to respond with faith when you’re facing something new or frightening

🌟 Real-Life Applications for Kids: – Say the verse out loud when you're afraid of the dark – Remember God is with you when you're the new kid somewhere – Ask Jesus for peace when your thoughts feel noisy or your heart feels heavy – Take a deep breath and say, “God, I know you’re with me”

🎧 Parents: If this encouraged your family, send the link to a friend or post it in your parent group on Facebook. Let’s help more families have these kinds of faith-filled conversations together!

📣 Before you go, ask each other: What’s something that makes you feel afraid—and how can you remember that God is with you in that moment?

Not superhero-style courage, but the kind of bravery that shows up when things feel bigger than you are. When you’re nervous, unsure, or scared—God promises to be right there with you.

📖 Verse of the Day: Joshua 1:9 (CSB) “Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

👣 In today’s episode, kids will discover: – Why God told Joshua to be courageous even when he felt scared – That courage doesn’t mean having zero fear—it means moving forward anyway – How Jesus showed courage in hard moments—and gives us the same strength – Real-life examples of what courage looks like at school, at camp, and in our faith

💪 Application Time: – Speak up for what’s right – Try something new even if you’re nervous – Share your faith with boldness – Don’t give up, even when it’s hard

📖 Verse of the Day: Joshua 1:9 (CSB) “Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

  • June 25th: The Joy of the Lord Is Your Strength | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus
    Jun 25 2025

What’s better than your favorite drink, your strongest muscles, or even a protein bar? According to the Bible—it’s joy. Real strength comes from the joy of the Lord, and today we’re diving into what that really means.

In Nehemiah 8:10, God’s people had just rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem and were hearing His Word after years of being far from Him. They felt emotional, guilty, overwhelmed—but Nehemiah and Ezra reminded them not to stay sad. Why? Because God’s joy is what gives us true strength.

    Today’s episode reminds kids:

    • Joy doesn’t depend on what’s happening—it depends on who God is.

    • You don’t have to fake a smile to have real strength.

    • Jesus gives us joy that helps us stay kind, hopeful, and strong even when life is hard.

🚗 Whether you’re riding home after a long day or curled up on the couch with a Popsicle, Pastor Justin is here to help you tap into a joy that never runs out.

🧠 Bottom Line: Joy isn’t the same as happiness. It’s deeper—and it comes from knowing Jesus is always with you.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parent Action Step: Text a friend the link to this episode or drop it in a Facebook group to help other families discover joy with Jesus too.

💬 Family Discussion Question: What’s one way you can choose God’s joy the next time you're having a tough day?
