We will look closer at both the old and new covenant, seeing exactly why this applies to us today.

The writer of Hebrews brings us to the main point of everything he has been leading up to so far. Let’s begin:

"Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, 2 a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man." Hebrews 8:1-2

We will see when God goes before His people in every action He calls them to do. When He gives a command, He has already made a way.

This week the writer is going further in showing the readers of this letter, why Jesus is the fulfillment of their faith and he will use this mysterious character Melchizedek to do just that. Now before we begin, let me say I do not have all the answers that are posed about this man. There are several views that try to identify him specifically and we will look at those, but I will not draw a hard line on these views, just study what is here and why it is important to the Jewish believers and to us.

In this study the writer encourages the readers of this letter both the Hebrews in their day and the church today to continue in the promise that God gives us through Jesus, which actually fulfills the promise He gave to Abraham.
