That evening, Celaena dresses with Phillipa’s help and crashes the Yulemas ball, much to Chaol’s chagrin and Dorian’s pleasure. When it’s clear Nehemia will not become the source of trouble for the evening, the assassin and the prince dance the night away and end the magical evening with a kiss. Certain another champion will be killed soon, Celaena goes hunting in the passages only to find Cain and his otherworldly monster. Sponsors: Start your hair growth journey with Nutrafol. Mar 13 2025
Best friends Jac and Amy conduct a literary analysis of Sarah J. Maas's debut novel, Throne of Glass. In this episode, they discuss chapters 32 - 36. Each episode is broken into 2 parts. This is part 2 of this week's episode. Come Tuesday, when we'll discuss chapters 37 - 43. (Spoilers for Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, and Heir of Fire will be discussed. Any larger series or other SJM spoilers will be reserved for the end of Thursday's episode in part 2.) Every episode, Jac and Amy use their combined 13 years of literary academic training to analyze and give voice to reasons why you may love or hate today's popular books. They embrace and respect modern fantasy, romance, and romantasy books written by women. And so, it is in their nature to analyze these books as you would any other novel you might have discussed in school. Chapter summary for this week's episodes: While thoughts of dead Champions plague Celaena, Nehemia distracts the assassin by leading her to the kennels, where they find Dorian and his new litter of puppies. Celaena defends the lone ill-tempered pup of the pack despite Nehemia and Dorian’s insistence it should be put down. When Nehemia learns of the slaughter of 500 Ellwye rebels, she goes to Celena for comfort. Bedridden by her monthly cycle, Celena has visits from both Chaol and Dorian despite her burning desire to be alone, but Dorian persists and confesses his feelings about himself, his father, and Celaena’s role in their dynamics. Chaol watches Celaena and Dorian’s relationship continue to grow from afar, and Celaena begins to doubt Nehemia’s intentions after discovering her ability to speak fluently in the common tongue. But all is forgotten on the morning of Yulemas, when Dorian gifts Celaena candy and her new puppy, Fleetfoot. Insightful & Entertaining

I have listened to the ACOTAR series twice and am now reading through it, and this podcast is adding so much depth to an already great series. I'm noticing things I never would have before and seeing things through a completely different lens!

Love deep diving into ACOTAR!

Love the deep dive into ACOTAR - the discussions on foreshadowing, bread crumbs, etc. It makes me want to read the series again and I can't wait to see what other books/book topics are discussed!
