Bangalore is known as the Silicon Valley of India because of its role as the nation’s leading information technology (IT) exporter. It is called so due to the number of startups coming up in the city. The city is situated on the Mysore plateau and the area is often referred to as the silicon plateau. The city is also known as the electronic capital of India. Bengaluru is the capital of the state of Karnataka in India. Bangalore usually experiences a more moderate climate throughout the year, although occasional heat waves can make summer somewhat uncomfortable.
