Hi, I’m Dax Shepard, and I love talking to people. I am endlessly fascinated by the messiness of being human, and I find people who are vulnerable and honest about their struggles and shortcomings to be incredibly sexy. I invite you to join me as I explore other people’s stories. We will celebrate, above all, the challenges and setbacks that ultimately lead to growth and betterment. What qualifies me for such an endeavor? More than a decade of sobriety, a degree in Anthropology and four years of improv training. I will attempt to discover human “truths” without any laboratory work, clinical trials or data collection. I will be, in the great tradition of 16th-century scientists, an Armchair Expert.

James joins the Armchair Expert to discuss plotting his revenge against the other Jimmy Kimmel for months, wanting to grow up to become a farmer until he was bullied because of it, and how eerily close he came to an irreparable act of violence to even a score. James and Dax talk about becoming an attorney to get revenge legally and professionally, how justice-seeking blesses all manner of disastrous human impulses, and finding himself addicted to revenge. James explains by studying forgiveness he learned that any method of finding peace works, why people who are victimized have a powerful rumination on being heard, and roleplaying a functional process of litigation resolution.

I don't dislike this show at all. he seem to ask all the questions. I want to ask about a personality that I'm interested in. I definitely will be. Listening to more episodes. . I especially like the episode of Jeff Bridges. Keep up the good work Dax. Love your car movie. You shouldn't be allowed to own those cool cars.

SO HAPPY AE is now available here! Such a a fun podcast. Entertaining AND can be educational. Dax and Monica have open minds and seem to like learning new things about how and why people do what they do. Their relationship is serious and sweet. I've been listening to this podcast from day one and have even gone to one of their first in person shows. Highly recommend!

The brave souls who bare all while hiding in closets telling their stories have been the highlight of my listening. I fell upon this podcast traveling 14 hours by car and laughed the whole way! Zac and Monica are my new favorite interviewers.

The call in anonymous guests with their prompted stories are usually really good. The expert guests are usually interesting and somewhat helpful. The rest is out of touch celebrity echo chamber.
