    The Senate is in the middle of a fight over whether to shut down the government. Republicans need 8 Democrats to join them and Chuck Schumer announced he's one of them. It kicked off a fight between members who wanted to push back against the White House and Elon musk vs. the members who wanted to avoid a painful shutdown. The question now is how do the Democrats survive if they're divided?

    PLUS: Grant talks about the recent court cases reinstating 30,000 federal workers and what it means to have a government that doesn't want to govern. To help, he talks to Professor Kevin Welner, the Director of the National Education Policy Center at the University of Colorado Boulder about the future of the Dept. of Ed and education in the US.
